Personally if you want something down right insane but not for the faint of heart or Mopar fanboy... LS3 BiTurbo Monster with GTO manual box in a mid 90's Viper. I have a customer considering having me do the swap because I am quite good with custom wiring and Frankenstein monsters in general. Its not unheard of for guys that want to race expensive cars but keep their value up. I have assisted in LS swaps into Ferrari cars before, so they could be tracked while their factory power plants got to sit safely in some rich guy's pool house.

My dad was the maintenance manager at Connor Assembly Plant up until about a year and a half ago and I always went into work with him and the amount of pride that the builders of the Viper had was insane. True story; one of the Viper’s road testers complained to FCA that his back hurt from driving Vipers all day (how ridiculous is that?) but rather than tell him to take a hike FCA built him a custom seat set up to prevent the pain. Also I was able to meet Ralph Giles four times, he has a white Viper with the license plate Voodoo and everyone who worked at the factory (including me because I happened to be there that day) signed the inside of the Decklid.

Also, as I was lucky enough to attend the ‘closing’ ceremony of Connor Assembly and I overheard the plant manager tell someone to not be surprised if FCA announced a Viper ‘replacement’ by the end of next year.

All i'm saying is that poor sales doesn't mean it's ugly. There are many examples of beautiful exotic cars that didn't sell at all. It happens. While the new viper is not as distinctive as the old one, the base shape is there and it's just more angry because people like angry cars nowadays. dark crusher1221 I think the world is beginning to move away from huge engines that drink huge amounts of fuel. As much as I want the Viper to return, I think the changing attitude towards fuel consumption (I guess) may stop that from happening. Especially since some countries are planning to ban the use of fossil fuels in the future. I can't see an 8 litre V-10 existing then.

3:07 it's a myth. Viper's V10 is based on a 360 LA Magnum V8, and have nothing in common with their iron-block V10 besides their similar displacement. At one point Chrysler considered adapting V10 engine for the Viper, but scrapped that idea due to the required amount of work and questionable outcome. 360 Magnum is the powerplant that can be found in Lil' Red Express truck and goes back as far as 1971 and, while heavily modifed and revised, remained in production line as 5.9 magnum until 2003.
@robertp4577 жыл бұрын
"The Viper V10 is based on the Chrysler LA engine family, and appeared with the Dodge Viper in 1992. It was conceived and prototyped as a Magnum 5.9 with two extra cylinders and a longer stroke of 3.88 in (99 mm). Lamborghini engineers revamped Dodge's cast-iron block V10 for the Viper[citation needed] by recasting the block and heads in aluminum alloy. Prototype blocks were cast by Lamborghini, at the time a Chrysler division. The first-generation Viper V10 engine had a displacement of 8.0 L (488 cu in) and produced 400 hp (300 kW) and 465 lb·ft (630 N·m)."

fastest h-pattern manual trans road car in the 'Ring. fastest front engined RWD road car in the 'Ring. a sequential manual (like those offered by PPG for the Gen V) could easily put it below the 7:00 mark. the driver who set the record says that it has too much downforce and drag and could have set a faster lap if it actually had a bit less of it. and it was a private effort, set by a car that is actually a real registered production road car and not an engineering protoype.

Camon man, you came from nowhere saying you have three Vipers, that kind of things is only done by rich people, and you are aswering me in KZbin, you know rich people who want to buy three Paganis because there are only 10 models in the world and want to start a personal collection of exclusive hypercars like Bugatti or Koenigsegg. I got to be there for the explosion, and they also ended up doing a night shoot that my buddy and I stumbled across by the local Dodge dealer.
