My grandpa was a lifer in the military and retired as a Master Sergeant and helicopter mechanic. His first car was a 1968 Mustang Boss 302. He sold it when he enlisted and went to 'Nam where he was a door gunner and when he made it back he tracked his car down and bought it back for what he sold it for. He still has it in his garage. He has owned nothing but Fords since. In 2010 he bought that brand new redesigned Shelby Cobra he had been saving for years for. He was retired so he likes to tinker and decided he wanted to put a different intake on it and some other minor things. This required that the Cobra emblem be moved to the other side of the front grill. He refused to do it without permission because he held Carroll Shelby in such high esteem. He sent a letter addressed to Shelby shortly after he bought the car and he actually got one back, signed by Shelby, stating that it was okay for him to move the emblem for modification purposes and that the car could still be considered a real Cobra Mustang. Obviously as we now know Shelby died not that long after. The letter is framed and hung in a glass case on the wall of his garage and him showing it to me is one of the only times I've ever seen him cry. I'm not really a "my car is better because it's a Chevy/Ford" type of guy but it's plain to see how important Ford and the Shelby name are to some people. This guy was and still is a large part of American car culture and I doubt that will ever die. If there ever was a car that screams "FUCK YEAH AMERICA" it's the goddamned Mustang and the Cobra emblem on the front.

I cried as well in this vid man. I felt Pumphrey's passion on cars and towards Mr. Shelby as well. Every second that I spent your vids was very well worth my time. A shame I wasn't able to catch your livestream a while ago. Congrats on the 1 mill subs Donut! See you at 2 mill subs!

I know I'm late to the party, but I just wanted to say, y'all have won me over. You don't see too many creators on KZbin these days that are here, not because "oooh I wanna be a famous KZbinr!" but because they're legitimately passionate about creating content and bring their passions to others through media. I've learned so much in the course of watching and enjoying your videos, and the passion of each of the hosts is proudly put on display in every video. I might not have been here from the beginning, but I'm here for the long haul. Keep it up y'all.
