In this video we take a look at a Tandy/TRS-80 Model 102 with a few questionable vintage upgrades. No doubt someone did the best they could back in the day but they did not age well. We’ll revert these mods to more of a factory condition and then get led down the primrose path when testing. Will we get this poor little T102 working again?

Nice! 1) Wow, it did clean up way better than I thought it could! Great job. 2) The power of "the stash"! Never throw things out, LOL. 3) Not embarrassing at all, we all do stuff like that. I for one appreciate that you left it in and did not edit it out - shows our humanity! 4) The "HEY BIRT!" test brings me a familiar sense of comfort and stability in this crazy world. NICE SAVE!!!

Nice job repairing/saving this one. While the mod was quite messy, it was good to see the person who did it didn't use a blowtorch and there was no damage to the board.. Always makes me a bit sad when all the pads are lifted and traces broken from someone using an electrician/plumber iron to do electronics.

Probably that plumber's first soldering job that didn't involve pipes. I hope they learned better. Glad you saved this from going into the toilet!

That hot glue cleaned up REALLY nicely. I'm amazed! Great job.

Seeing that EPROM soldered to the clipped pins really triggered me. It is sad to see lazy short cuts like that. But, I am glad you were able to mend some of the other craziness.

Another great video Jeff! I was smiling a bit when I saw you set the rotary switch to "0" instead of "F" for TS-DOS. Happens to the best of us! Your Test Harness and Test ROM jigs piqued my interest. Never seen anything like that for the Model-T systems and I think I might like to get one. Does it work with all the Model-T systems or only the M100/M102? Does it work with the M200? The ports are in different places on the various models if I recall, so can the test harnesses accommodate this? Anyway, would love more information on this test harness / test ROM setup you showed in the video, I did not see it for sale on your Soigeneris site. Thanks again for all you do Jeff!

The test harness works on the M100, T102 and I have used it on the Olivetti M10 too. I don't have it on the website. Shoot me an email, contact info on site.
