okay so this song is clearly about being LGBTQ+ but i can't not notice how well it fits my autistic experience as well... like, the lines "And I thought it would feel good to understand why I was different/ But my title just talks over me" and "How can I be proud of what a million people shout at me I'm not" are hitting really hard - people tend to either see me only through the lenses of my autism and ignore who i am as a person, or straight up not believe i'm autistic, despite a professional diagnosis, just because i don't fit what they think autism looks like. i really hope i'm not derailing the message of this song, i'm also lesbian and asexual and i do get what it's about, just wanted to share my thoughts
