Thank you for clarifying in this video! I graduated with a BS in Psychology (3.9 GPA) but no research experience. Currently working on a master with clinical and research experience to help assist in entering PHD or PsyD program.

I have similar stats. Great applicant but lack any real world experience outside of my research and statistics classes. Wishing both of us luck! Maybe we will cross paths in academia 😊

Thank God I stumbled upon this video. So it would be better to pursue a masters in clinical psychology than a masters in counseling so I can have research experience when going for my PsyD and Phd.

Currently binging your entire series and these videos are just what I needed to gain more clarity on what to anticipate when thinking about starting a career in clinical psych.. I majored in finance and later double mastered in data analytics and business administration. I realized the field was not for me and am considering making a career change. I think for me, pursuing a masters in psych would make the most sense considering I don't exactly have the background or familiarity with the subject. Thanks for leading me down the right path and saving me before I commit to any unnecessary setbacks :)

Me still panicking with a BS in psychology & MS in counseling. I'm trying to make a PhD in Clinical Psychology feel like I didn't waste my time but definitely cleared some things up

I have been binging your videos and I appreciate all of it! I am currently a senior majoring in neuroscience. I am realizing that clinical psychology is really what I want to do but I was so scared because I felt like I had to have it all figured out. Your videos are almost answering all the questions I have been wondering. Thank you!

JoJo did you do a Master's degree before your PhD? How many more years do you have left with your doctorate degree?

Hi really big thanks this is a really helpful video, but I might need some specific advices (appreciate if you can share what you know). I currently have completed the bachelor of psychology in Malaysia. I have reached the CGPA requirements, and have 11 months of research experience. However my actual job scope only involves transcription. Although I still have some research experience (data collection, literature review etc.) while completing thesis and some of the subjects. Will you think that my research experiences is enough to apply for PhD in clinical psychology? And if not mistaken, you mentioned at least 2 yrs of experience, am I correct? Will research experiences be an important requirement to be admitted into PhD in clinical psychology in US universities?

In Texas to be a Licensed psychologist you have to get your masters I’m just wanting to know if it’s hard.

I’m not sure I can answer this for all masters programs, but I wouldn’t say my masters program was “hard”. It was mostly just very time consuming because I had to take a full 12 credit course load each semester and keep up with school work while also being a part of a research lab and working on projects as well as working on my own research and working part time. There were definitely a few individual classes that were tougher than others, but in general the hardest thing was probably just balancing all the obligations
