Although the video is 2 years old…Working with Tess (5 month old mini Goldendoodle) on sofa jumping. I’ll incorporate moving her favorite mat next to the sofa. Typically we see her: Front paws on the sofa. Chin on the sofa or simply jump onto the sofa. ~Thanks~

What about when a dog jumps on the couch when you are not in the room? Or dog is not allowed in furniture and only ever gets in furniture when we are not in the room

Yes! This is my problem. I've taught my pup the commands for getting on and off of furniture but he does it to get my attention most times. Such as, I'm petting my other dog and then he jumps up and absolutely refuses to get off. It has me to the point of near tears some days. Also, when they play.

please don’t it’s WAY to sharp for the dogs paws and may injure them when they jump up and they’re fur can get stuck in spikes which then they cant get off and they get stuck on the sharp spikes and make them scared of the area u put it in and sometimes it might make them scared of u

HELP 🥺 PLEASE I really need help training my 4 month old labrador retriever pup. He keeps biting me no matter what I do. I tried the toy method, then I tried to divert his attention by making him sit calm and rewarding him a treat. But he will chew on the toy for 30sec and then turn back to me, and once he is done with the treat, he comes back for me. I tried scolding him, in which case he gets annoyed and aggressive and starts jumping and biting, I tried fake crying and still no change. Every time I say no, it's a nightmare. He goes crazy mad and bites wherever he can reach. It hurts a ton. 😭 Now I feel like he is turning a bit aggressive day by day. He bites us if he doesn't like something we do, or if he wants something. Overall, it's rare that I get to spend some quality time with him, most times it's just bite bite bite. I even have tiny tear marks all over my hands. And my mom's too. Everyone complaints thay we cuddle him way too much that It's the pampering that's ruining him. I don't know, can someone please help. Please. I'm desperately in need of some guidance.😭

Please check this more from this channel. They have a whole playlist about this, and some of their tips involve preventing the biting in the first place by knowing what can trigger it. We had no idea some things (like sitting on the floor, not getting enough sleep) can actually promote puppy biting! About 2 weeks ago, we were in the same place you are with our now 15 week old mini schnauzer, and I was ready to send him back to the breeder. But now we’re seeing some real improvement! Not perfect-my pup bit my nose while playing today and drew blood!-but truly getting better. Don’t give up, and watch all the McCann videos you can. They’re the best we’ve found yet. Good luck!

Our pup is mouthy but improving. He doesn’t usually use pressure thankfully but we still don’t accept his mouth on us. I’m no expert, but I’d say immediately stop giving him affection/attention when he bites. You can spend time researching for more tips but I’d start with that one right away, you don’t want to accidentally reinforce bad behavior. This channel is awesome! A trainer told us to slightly aggressively grab our puppy by the collar, look him in the eye and tell him NO BITING. But you have to do it EVERY SINGLE TIME he bites and he has calmed down tremendously! He is a 7 month old shepard

@@n0steeze he is 3 years old now. Pretty sweet boy, but is a bit territorial with his things. The only thing that works with him is being very loving and gentle with him and lots of treats. If ever I try to scold him, he turns into a rebel, does the exact opposite. Has a habit of eating random things too. Though sometimes he can be a handful, he is the most sweetest boy ever.

Anytime your puppy is thinking about jumping on the couch without your invitation, say NO and throw a pillow at it. Do this two or three times and the problem will be solved. (or use a bonker, which is a rolled-up soft towel).
