for instance for the combo you are trying vs fox on battlefield? i would cover the tech roll in with dash back > jump/shielddrop shine then DJ waveland onto top platform Then kill time and access the situation with a quick DD to see if they put themselves in any known kill setups Such as the mang0 sh nair off top platform to catch dj and push them onto side plat for a dair/utilt/dsmash/etc. Or possibly? walking a bit into a delayed utilt and then ripping an fsmash ROFL

My best advice for falco punish game on platform stages is to setup your combos with the intent of platform tech chasing in mind. Alot of times when comboing you have the choice between like 4 moves. Choose the moves that best loops the situation or puts them onto top platform with similar frame advantage From there you gotta decide how you want to hit tech in place vs the rolls. I hit tech in place with shield drop shine, dtilt, utilt and the rolls with dash attack, fsmash, dtilt, utilt, etc running shield drop dair/bair, grab, upsmash, etc all of which are functionally di mixups and so sliding off all of them is inherently impossible.

Why not just turn around uptilt after downairing the marth onto the top plat? Could that not lead to shine off the top of up air?

on the fast falling bit, would it be at all valuable to mix up wether or not you fast fall those aerials? one thing I've seen some good players mention is that it's really weird playing against someone who doesn't fast fall their aerials, so it seems to me like something where mixing it up to some degree might just add a lot to your opponents mental stack in terms of how they whiff punish, and when/where the hitboxes they need to play around are in neutral. idk it would make some sense to me if not fast falling them is always bad, but even in the video where you're trying to whiff punish the falco that you made it seemed like it took you a moment to kinda adjust to the timings, so it feels to me like there could be something there?

That's really cool! It looks like KJH is opting for another Dair to build more percent before setting up the juggle since if he did another Shine Dair it would have caused a tech chase, which can be annoying to deal with.

He should probably explain it, but when I do it it's to play around SDI, since if they SDI the first dair you can just follow them with the second one on reaction

I would love to know how Mango and Ginger do the Shine Waveland on top plat --> DD SH reverse Bair --> Shine --> Double Jump Dair on Yoshi Story without getting the edge cancel on the side platform. Also I feel like the F-Smash tech chase on side platform is more to cover multiple tech options and deal damage rather than edge guard.

Lets go!!! That was my question at 11:39. Thank you, KJH; I love the videos! I guess what I saw was that 1st: It is complex, so don't beat myself up too much and push offstage for edge guard. I saw you do a lot of sharking with FH Shine underneath the platform at low percent's and FH Waveland onto the platform and RTC with DTilt, FSmash, or fadeback dair/upair in place to cover tech in at higher percent's.

I had this same epiphany a couple weeks ago but with all my aerials as spacies. Wasnt FFing SH aerials even though i grinded this out years ago. Felt way faster once i remembered. To be fair there are situations where it is beneficial not to FF but feels awkward forgetting the option entirely, i agree.
