i think if you were to upgrade from an older PlayStation or just don't have one, this would be a good choice to choose as it servs as more of a refresh for the ps5 and would last a couple years longer then the original ps5.

As a collector I'd be happy to buy the PS5 Pro, however I believe Sony could build stronger relationships with publishers and encourage them to make more games for the PS5 instead of bringing another console out.

Yes, yes I do. I have a SX and I'm waiting for the PS5 PRO to release so I can play Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade. I am thankful to have an Xbox because of Stalker 2 and Halo. I'll probably buy GTA 6 for the Pro.

I’ll be honest just keep your ps5 in good shape you won’t have to worry about long terms problems. But I’m not saying don’t get the pro if you already have a ps5 but let just be real though people still will get the ps5 pro either way.

@@GameListPlus I was lucky enough to pre-order one and I've been playing it since the North American launch day. I like the console but some of the performance modes in games like FF 16, 7 rebirth, Robo Cop, Immortals of Aveum look blurry on a 4K display and a better GPU with advanced upscaling similar to DLSS is an appealing upgrade to me. I was a big fan of both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X and while I have a decent gaming PC (5800x + 3070ti) I prefer to play most games on consoles because I prefer controllers, physical games and sitting back on the couch.

I don't think so! The games for PS4 vs PS4 Pro were all great. I expect the same of PS6 being solid. I plan to buy the PS6 and PS7, not pro models. What if Trinity is secretly just PS6 and they just announce it for 2026?! That would be awesome!

I definitely plan to upgrade my PS5 digital I got in Feb 2021 to the PS5 Pro. It's not going to cost $600 or $700 for the PS5 Pro. There have been several games that have suffered low dynamic resolution in order to maintain the 60fps of the performance mode, that's would not happen on the pro. Given the pandemic and stock shortages I would totally expect the PS6 to not come out until 2028. I will sell my PS5 digital once I get the pro so what ever the pro price is I overall it will be around £150 cheaper than the RRP because of that sale.

The projected retail is $599. But we shall see! Yeah I'm definitely going to be tempted to upgrade. I think the Super Spectral Resolution is my biggest draw. But I feel like I'll be fine waiting a couple more years for the PS6.

It's going to be a minimum of 3 years before PS6. There are plenty of people who will be willing to buy when you upgrade. Same will be try of the ps5 pro to ps6 transition.

There's literally no point. There's barely any games available that take full advantage of the regular ps5, by the time games that make the regular ps5 look slow come out, the ps6 will be right around the corner.

Yeah that's how I felt about the PS4 Pro. They should just maximize the games on the current system. It is possible... Ghost of Tsushima was on PS4 and is still one of the most gorgeous games I've ever played... They pushed the system to the limit, we haven't seen the best the PS5 can do!

what is the point on a "NEW" ps5 if you didn't have GAMES?? Why Sony spend A LOT of money on the stupid PS Portal and a PS5 Pro? we do not have any games! Sony studios are spending time on AAA games and remasters or remakes.. The market is getting worst because of this decisions.. Insomniac spend 300 millions on Spiderman 2. Why????? they could easy make a smaller game, spend less money... and get wAYYY more profit.. Same for the other IPs.. I miss the PS2 and 3 era... a lot of great games and fun.. If PS5 wasn't given to so many scalpers and if Sony put some sort of protections in for people.. or even just had product? Then I'd have a PS5 right now. As it stands, they didn't and I got to see that there is nothing on PS5 that I want. I rarely even touch my PS4 anymore outside of playing a few console games with friends who don't have computers... but to play online with them some games require a PSPlus sub, which is insane. I can't justify paying $70 for a game and THEN playing $15 a month just to play the game when I can move to PC and pay $50 for the game and play it for free after that. I'm sort of feeling like the market for consoles is going away, companies are getting greedier and greedier and the main competition being a PC is just leaving them behind.

I agree with so much of this. The scalping is truly horrible. Supposedly Nintendo delayed releasing Switch 2 to next year for that very reason. Supposedly they are producing so many of them that the scalpers won't be able to keep up with how many people buy them at retail price. I don't know how on earth that will work, but we can hope. Console gaming is still my favorite, the 2 best things about the PS5 are the fast loading times and the incredible controller. For me anyway, that's how Sony has managed to keep me happy. The Adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are so cool and not something available on PC. But yeah I can play my PC with my Xbox controller on my TV, it's WAY more cost effective and better looking than my PS5, but cumbersome. Thanks for watching and keeping the conversation going!

@@GameListPlus I believe you can also connect your PS5 controller to PC, and Steam accepts it almost automatically (yay Steam!), I think the only issue I've seen was some games having problem if the controller is plugged into the PC when the game is started..which I don't understand. But yeah, you should be able to play any game on PC with your PS5 and have few issues. Now, do the adapter trigger work? That I don't know as I gave up trying to get a PS5.

If you reeeally think about it, the shortage kinda messed with both Sony and MSoft in different ways: Sony had only the PS5, so people begged and begged and waited for it, and many got scalped. And now they’ve had it for only like 2 years, as this video says. With MSoft, there was the S Series as an alternative, both when you couldn’t get the X, or when you simply realized you didn’t need it. But that created problems for Xbox and developers being limited by the hardware (Larian being a notable example) when trying to release for Xbox series. Now in 2024, we’re seeing the consequences of all those issues. PS5 sold better despite Xbox X Series being a very capable console (with an actually superior HDMI color gamut). And Microsoft has been forced to make some odd moves lately which remind of Dreamcast days. Meanwhile, we have this Pro news from Sony, which doesn’t quite make sense. In a way, what happened to the Xbox and what is happening with the PS5 doesn’t quite “make sense” as a whole, unless we include two things: shift in gaming needs (except for a couple of games, for most people these consoles are just F2P playing machines) and a shift in the portable gaming market. This didn’t exist last generation, where Fortnite and the like weren’t the ONLY games and many gamers didn’t have a Steam Deck or Switch to play the other “more traditional” games on. The market is just trying to figure itself out, because right now most gamers would rather play a game like Mario or Silksong on a portable device, but then use their console for Fortnite, Warzone, etc etc etc… except these are free games, and the only way to make money from those is to get gamers to buy gamepads and accessories that will make your experience better. All these complications are distorting the once simple market.

I don’t think any co has produced a single game that can actually tax it to its borderline. Like in old days you compared a snes game that came out at launch to a game that came out at the end of its life. I’ll be waiting for a ps6

Even with ps5 there are not that many games available and there are so many previous generation games that don't take any advantage of ps5 even though they should. Right? Apparently there are specific rules for which games with what framerate upgrades etc will be allowed to "PS5 Pro Enhanced" logo.
