Does ArduPilot need a computer in the plane?

USB should be a no-no for things that rattle, glue them all down hard. I would fly the platform put a few hours on it before mounting anything else.

@@timtheplaneman like you said that short little wire shouldn’t have problems. I have more experience with Ethernet, which reliably does error rates < 0.0001%, but I’d start with double checking settings on both sides, then consider a breakout tester.
