I cant think of a better company with a better product on the tri market and also there value for what they give, the industry really needs to lower prices on these tri bikes to give consumers a chance to try out this sport to see if they like it

Their bike is nice. Theres other manufacturers also offers good price for entry level rigs. However by next year, Decathlon will be releasing to market their VanRysel XCR and current demo displayed bikes, they look impressive

Hard to compete with Canyon direct to consumer pricing. Hard to find anything close to that price with those wheels. Close alternative would come with alloy wheels.

Four possibilities: 1) Argon 18 E-117 with SRAM Force eTAP AXS is $5000, rims aren't quite as deep, doesn't come with bento/additional storage but otherwise a similar overall bike. 2) Vitus Auro CR Disc SRAM Force eTap AXS was £4,699.99 but didn't come with bento/additional storage. 3) Ribble Ultra Tri Disc - Sport with Shimano 105 mechanical is £3,799.00 or £5,399.00 with Ultegra Di2. 4) Giant TRINITY ADVANCED PRO 2 with Shimano Ultegra mechanic is $4000, comes with alloy wheels because you'll use your own - so call it $5300 including Winspace Hyper.

I admit as a German brand, they have some really good designs in the industry. The price range between different tiers makes sense, and they still keep rim brakes in their lineup. But I had a REALLY TERRIBLE customer service experience for a bike (& parts) delivered to me in Canada, having tons of serious QC problems (cracked frame, delaminated carbon cockpit, burrs on tools, inaccurate hole drilling on seat post parts). I waited 6 months for the bike to get delivered, and after I found out the problem the second day of delivery, I spent another 6 weeks trying to talk them through and get a resolution. But what I got from them was slow reply which takes longer than a week, tons and tons of back and forth, constantly avoiding answering all my questions, employee serving Canadian region doesn't know English at all (email reply makes absolutely no sense, I didn't even know what they meant), and inconsistent or even contradictory resolution plans. I ended up getting out of the shit hole by losing $100-ish CAD of tax & duty service fee (with an additional few months of waiting for Canadian custom to refund me the $1000 CAD tax & duty I paid.) I'd say unless you live in EU or US (which they have another warehouse and different crew) or you just really like their design, you like it so much that you are willing to take the risks, I don't recommend them AT ALL, especially if you are choosing them because you want to buy bikes for cheap. Doesn't worth it.

As someone who has 2x Quintana Roo bikes, a PRSix on the trainer and a PRSix2 race bike, I can’t stand that I’ve had 3 problems with them in 4 years…. PRSix had a seat post spacer issue and they wanted me to use a micrometer to measure the spacers before being warranties, then, I had a stem slipping issue and recorded me torquing the head bolts down exactly as spec’d 7x, hopping on and watching the bars rotate 20* down. Both with and without carbon paste. The stem issue is now a problem on my PRSix2 and they won’t warranty it slams say the base bar is out of spec. It’s a PD Aeria Ultimate carbon, same one they used in their builds…. So, I’m going up on them, I have 0 faith in their products.

Genuine question, why are Tri bikes cheaper than normal road bikes (equally spec'ed) when it's more aero, and has more carbon material? Yes demand is the easy answer but it also shows you how much we're getted hosed.

I have no idea, maybe like you said the demand is not there, but no lie, specialized tri bikes are more over priced then there road bikes, I think this is more of a canyon thing

I still think of Current bikes the Giant Trinity can't be beat. Top level performance at a lower price. Bike Exchange (or whatever they are called now) have shown with the cadex wheels it is one of the best TT packages on the world tour & it was ridden to victory at Kona last year against an array of wild bikes (including Giants own Cadex frame) and newer designs showing it still cuts the mustard.

@Laurenz because you need disc brakes at Kona or on most TT courses where you just need to scrub enough speed to make the corners while maintaining the most momentum possible.

Hahaha definitely not Cube 🤣if you live in the US. The QR could be very competitive but the cockpits are rubbish - and people have a hard time re selling them ( which is important for all the 1 and done triathletes out there ). I tried for long time to seek a bike outside of Canyon for Triathlon but its nearly impossible for a lot of the reasons you mentioned. People sh*t on Canyon for availability but I couldn't find most* other brands anywhere else. Seriously though, Specialized, Cube, BMC, Cervelo (list goes on) It definitely seems like they don't put too much effort of care into Tri bikes (selling or competing), which is sad for all the great shops out there that could be selling them.

@DoNuT_1985 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's a good package ... 5000$ gives you a decent, fully-equipped bike. If you want a tri bike, you're definitely not the occasional weekend warrior and more willing to spend that amount of money for your riding than a pure hobby rider. Electronic shifting also makes way more sense in such a setup than on a normal dropbar bike. There's nothing uglier than entry-level tri bikes with shallow alloy rims, the entry Speedmax CF has 11-speed 105 R7000 mechanical and DT Swiss P1800 wheels for around 3000$, so the bike show here is significantly more value for the money.
