1) In Torat Menachem (Haitva'aduyot 5745 vol. 1, p. 465) the Rebbe said very clearly that he's very against such things and he wants to never mention it again because it should be stopped completely and immediately. See there. 2) See also Sichot Kodesh (5752, vol. 1 p. 259-260) where the Rebbe spoke against people who started singing Mashiach songs right in front of him, and he said it's so weird how such people can do such a thing right in front of him when he's against it. One things for sure, Moshiach will not tolerate his disables who allow people in their congregation who drive to Shul on Shabbos on a regular basis and then call them tzaddikim while never reprimanding them for doing so.

Ask him what is he going to teach you today, and listen to understand. Depending on his teachings, decide whether or not this "teacher" is fit for your moral and belief system.

look in the chumash, parshas vayechi. opening passuk in the parsha, and what rashi says there. Yaakov Avinu was going to tell the shevatim when moshiach was going to come, but hashem removed this knowledge from him. So I would always tell my chabad friends this source, and say " yaakov avinu did not know, but you do?" My motto is do your job today. study torah, do mitzvos, stop doing aveiros, and let hashem do his part by bringing moshiach.

@@yeshivishvideos8342 Look in the gemara where Rabbi Akiva proclaimed that Ben Coziva was moshiach. To test him, they investigated if he was on the madrega of " morach vadoyan" , which means moshiach will be able to poskin halacha by his power of smell alone. Ben Coziva failed and was killed. The message is clear, this mentality has always led to problems.

But there is a kal vchomer that the earlier generations, who were on a higher level made many grave mistakes in falsely proclaiming who moshiach was, all the more so a despicable generation as ours has no hold on who the moshiach is. Look at the gemara in Bava Metzia 85, where the sons of Rebbe Chiya were davening shemonah esrei, and Eliyahu hanavai had to come and stop them because their tefillah was so powerful, it would have coerced hashem to bring moshiach right there and then! This is how holy the earlier generations were. The shas is covered with statements like this that only Hashem knows who and when the moshiach will come. The Rebbe of Chabad was a big tzaddik, but I do not like when Jews of our times proclaim they know who moshiach is. Lay low, run away from honor, study torah, do mitzovs, let HASHEM decide.

Rambam doesn't say if he died it says of he was killed like yushka for example. That's why those examples are given. U need to read Sanhedrin 98 Alef and bet. Qouted by the Rebbe many times as well as the Sichot of 1990_91, to see that the Rebbe is Melech Ha-Moshaich...

If someone dead can still be moschiah do you realize that every messianic candidate that has ever existed is still technically ‘in play’? All of the hundreds of messiah claimants throughout the millennia can still be moschiah, in that case. If what you’re saying is true, we would never be able to definitively disqualify anyone. Isn’t that a little ridiculous? Bar Kokhba could still possibly be moschiah by that standard, for crying out loud. Somebody could just die without fulfilling the prophecies and his followers could scream “yeah yeah-but he’s coming back to do that stuff, don’t worry!” like (lehavdil) demented christians do. The Shabbatians also did this. The Rebbe tatzal was an unbelievably righteous tzaddik yesod olam who left behind a gargantuan legacy, but it’s time to let go of him being the moschiah. If someone dies they are automatically not the moschiah.

Discard everything you read on line and in the news! THIS is what the Lubavitcher Rebbe has to say for our days....[spoken 28th Sivan 1991] "As this is relevant to the overall theme of Exile and Geula, similarly is this relevant to the particular location “in the lower hemisphere - the West - USA”. This is because this [770] is [the miniature Mikdash] which is the place the Rebbe my Master and father-in-law Leader of our generation established his place of residence, as the source of spreading the wellsprings outwards throughout the entire world. Therefore, it is in this location and from this location that the Geula and the building of the third Beis HaMikdash will be activated, “the Mikdash which Your [Hashem’s] Hands have prepared”. That immediately in this location there will be the revelation of “the Mikdash which Your Hands have prepared” - that the Rebbe my Master and father-in-law Leader of our generation is able to claim [from Hashem] and bring to reality, where first and foremost there will take place openly the revelation of “the Mikdash which Your Hands have prepared” in this place [770] where he lived and pursued his Avoda over his last ten years, the sum total of all of his Avoda. And specifically by the conclusion of the Avoda in this nethermost hemisphere - “will we raise up” and reveal the entire building of the Mikdash [Temple] which “Your Hands have prepared”. This also includes the roof of the building, that “King Moshiach…stands upon the roof of the Beis HaMikdash and he makes it heard to the Jewish people and says “Humble ones, the time of your Geula - Redemption has arrived” [- see Yalkut Shimoni on Yeshaya point 499] - and all of this will be raised up by the [lofty] Avoda in the nethermost location of the world. And immediately [See vision of Daniel 7.13] וַאֲרוּ עִם־עֲנָנֵי שְׁמַיָּא כְּבַר אֱנָשׁ אָתֵה “One like a human being came with the clouds of heaven” - all of the Jewish people will find themselves “with our young and our elders with our sons and with our daughters”, in the Holy Land, together with the Third Beis HaMikdash [Temple] which is currently here [770], and we will take all of this together, “with their gold and our silver with them” [Yeshaya 60.9] - meaning their service of love for G-d and fear of G-d [see Torah Or beg. Parshas Vayeshev], which includes all of the positive and negative Mitzvos.

He doesn’t have to build the temple. The Temple descends from heaven according to the prophet Ezekiel. The Rambam was a Rishon, his ideas are not Halacha, very insightful but not Halacha. Rash I, also states the Temple will descend from heaven. Saadia Gaon, mashiach ben Joseph builds the temple. We will know mashiach when the messianic age goes into effect there will be no mistaken of his identity.
