Hey Aron I'm the guy who did the 540 laserflip in this vid. I know I use my heel to help with the scoop of the trick, but I still feel my front foot graze against the board to help with the flip. Even though my back foot helps with both the spin and the flip, it doesn't completely override the full effort I put into making the flip happen. For this reason I wouldnt consider it cheating because if I could make the board do that entire rotation with just one foot then it would fall into the category of a pressure flip (at least I'd think so). Either way I dig the videos and I like the amount of effort and observation that goes into these. I've always noticed how a some people do laser flips the way I do mine and how other people do it with a more "tip-toe" position on the tail to avoid scooping it with the heel. Regardless I still think it's the same trick, just done differently.

Nah that's definitely not cheating. That's like saying Andy anderson cheats at ff impossible because it doesn't flip on the intermediate axis. Everyone has their unique styles and way of expressing themselves
@cbshaw8 жыл бұрын
It's pretty much like the difference between an illusion flip and a frontside flip, or a 360 shove and an impossible. You get the same result, but with variations in style and execution. Personally I prefer a fully wrapped impossible, but many people consider a 360 shove the same trick. I think we are splitting hairs, but in the most awesome of ways. Style matters, but if you land it, I wouldn't call it "cheating".
@КатяПурфюрст8 жыл бұрын
From this moment for me naming tricks will be like "regular" and "switch". So it will be Traditional Laser flip and Kiwi Laser Flip.

I agree with Aymeric ppl have different ways to do the tricks ie frontside flips hard flips impossibles ect but i also agree theres differences to the trick and ones cleaner and those differences should seperate the trick its in the same family but it should be a different trick i would like to see more skaters doth both variations of tricks it would be awesome in a game of skate

You know, I'd really like to read articles written by you. You might want to consider setting up a simple Wordpress site or something of that nature to create a companion article for the video. It could help drive more traffic to your videos and allow people to easily find your detailed information via a Google search, etc.

wow! nice video! im trying to land my first laser flip since 1 week and my trick for doing it its that i put my front foot (the one wich do the heelflip) in a very rare position, i put it like if i was going to do a triple heelflip XD but that helps me because its easier to spin the board well and faster, with the back foot the only thing i do is move it like a front shuv but popping harder. SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH IM FROM SPAIN :P
@RadRatVideo8 жыл бұрын
I've learned a lot of tricks like that. Start with an exaggerated foot position and slowly get it more under control with practice.
@typisch937 жыл бұрын
what is your opinion on hopping with your foot while doing especially a boneless, some people do it with no complys aswell. i mean for example someone is doing a boneless: grabbing the board ,drops his front foot and starts to hop with this foot before he jumps back on... stuff like this is really important but it seems like less people start care about it.

Nice video! I had no idea this trick existed until I found it just a little while ago. I like that you don't call it "cheating", either - I think the "difficulty" of tricks is subjective. I wonder how subjective, though? Are there any skaters that find laser flips easier than kiwi flips? If so, what percentage? I found these tricks (360 underflips and kiwi flips) easier, but I thought it was due to my natural inclination to push mongo (I tend to favor my back foot, so back-foot tricks came easier - pressure flips, impossibles, etc.) Curious to hear your thoughts based on your experience/research.
@RadRatVideo8 жыл бұрын
I think trying to come up with numbers on that will be almost impossible. I think 360 underflips are easier than tre flips, but I think nollie lasers are easier than kiwis for me... But I find frontside/heelflip stuff easier in switch or nollie anyway, so that's another level of complexity to add in there. Plus, another issue is just muscle memory and doing what you're used to. So what trick is harder, versus what trick is harder TO LEARN are different questions... In general I would say regular stance 360 kiwis are easier than lasers simply because you get to push the tail around. But it's impossible to really give a definitive answer.
@defeatstatistics7413 Жыл бұрын
I always had problems with scoops, always preferred a more decisive pop, so yeah I think I fall into that camp. I mean, I also think varial flips are cool if you pop em big or throw a nollie varial or something, so maybe I'm just weird.

that's the second video i watched from ur channel, and, besides disagreeing with u in certain points, i loved it, that's somethings that no one talks about. i do my laser flips and ss big heels like haslam, idk why, i find it easier and for most of my tricks, the flicking feet always hangs out of the board to do the motion. I still call my laser flips laser flips, and i definitely dont think that Haslam is cheating, thats no such thing in skateboarding, only in a game of skate maybe. Anyway, i really enjoyed it, u got another sub. Cheers from Brazil.
