Yaaa I usually use it in my hair once every few months as a conditioning treatment and then wash it out with shampoo. With eye lashes, I would use it if I am traveling and if it's available lol I don't have any eye makeup remover with me. 😁

It’s best to apply oil to the lashes at night before sleeping, as it stays on the whole night, and you don’t have to open your eyes that lets the oil inside. And visible thickness/length of lashes happens in a few months, not in one day. I’ve been trying it and the results are great!

Unfortunately for me. Applying castor oil overnight gave me a chalazion or a internal stye. I’ve now sworn off putting any oil near my eye. But glad it’s helping you.

@@Ladeliciadelinda ​Yes that can happen sometimes. But applying the oil to the lashes only, with closed eyes, so it doesn't get to the internal lids helps. And of course thoroughly washing it off in the morning, with baby shampoo too!

Hi I use a Child size toothbrush because I find it more gentle and less scratchy plus it evenly distributes the oil through my lashes. Less blurry too. Child toothbrushes are Cute as well. I started tossing them and getting new ones every so often. Meanwhile I wash it out when I'm done with soap and hot water to keep things extra clean.

Thank you for sharing all this great information. Great to get beauty advice that's backed by science. I do find it disappointing that you're advising people to throw out spoolies so flippantly though. Especially when places like Hawaii are so highly impacted by plastic waste. Surely there is a way to apply coconut oil to lashes that doesn't involve so much single-use plastics. Or perhaps there is a way to clean spoolies so they aren't ending up in our oceans and landfills after one use?

I have used oils on my eyelashes for around 3 years, but I never knew that I was suppose to clean the oil off of my eyes. Yesterday the line of my eyelid was purple and swollen, but it was hard to see since my eyelashes were in front of the area (liked curled up). I use coconut oil on my eyelid eyelash below the eye for dark circles and on eyebrows. There was such rapid growth of eyebrows and lashes. My eyebrows were almost invisible before because of sparseness but now they look so good! It does reduce the dryness around eyes. I got it once in my eye but I washed it off with water. It didn't cause any trouble. Coconut oil does make the eye area a little puffy and makes you feel sleepy.

I noticed that when I oil cleanse with coconut oil my sparse lashes become thick and long within a week. When I stop they return to normal. These days I put the tiniest amount on my upper eyelid, close to my lash line and it has the same effect. Love your videos! I tried Latisse but after one application, my eyes were so irritated the next day that I decided not to do it again. I have been using coconut oil as a moisturizer at night, including around the eyes (not too close) with great results. I have very dry skin. I'm careful to exfoliate gently each morning as I know it can clog pores. If the coconut gets may your eyes, then should I attempt to reapply after flushing my eyes? It seems to me that the drops or eye flush will clean the coconut oil off. This may be a no brainer questions, but I want to be sure.

I don't think there would be any problem at reapplying the coconut oil. Coconut oil was even studied as a dry eye drop in the past. But, if you have any serious issues, or side effects, please see your eye doctor. I can't give medical advice here.

People with seborrheic dermatitis are prone to blepharitis. I have both as well. Instead of the wipes I do a hot compress when I remove my eye makeup and put Vaseline on my lash roots. Vaseline kills off the mites and bacteria that cause the blepharitis and my doctor loves the treatment, says it's completely cleared up.

I’m Mexican and I have long thick hair and let me tell u coconut oil saved my life. I started using coconut oil in my hair around 7TH grade when I realized my hair started getting curly and thicker and before that I tried a lot of stuff to calm the frizz down and nun helped until I started using coconut oil and now I’m in 10th grade and I still use it almost every night before bed so while I’m sleeping my hair can soak up the oil and now my hair is longer then it’s ever been and not as frizzy😌😂. Entropion is pretty common out here in hawaii too. Coconut oil really isn't dangerous if a little gets in your eyes, but i wouldn't want a lot of it in there. It will really blur your vision. I wouldn't put too much at the base b/c it can block your oil glands. If you do, make sure to make an appt with your eye doctor to ensure your meibomian glands aren't being blocked.

Clean hands should be fine. And, coconut oil won't make your lashes grow longer, but it'll make them stronger and less likely to break. It's what I'm using now because I don't want the nasty side effects of lash serums.

You making it part of your routine? Yes, if you have oily skin, it's possible you might have some meibomian gland blockage too. Even just inexpensive baby shampoo is good enough.

I used to use coconut oil on my eyelashes and they were very healthy! I stopped after a while and I realized they started to thin out a bit and I noticed they weren’t as healthy. I am Now using coconut oil again but I think it is very healthy for your lashes! It won’t make them longer like serums but if the serums are too expensive then definitely try coconut oil because it will make them healthier!!!

Yesss coconut oil may not “grow” your lashes, but it increases the healthiness! That’s the main reason I use it… then when the eyelash naturally grow it will be less likely to fall out! Especially if you use mascara or fake lashes, it will help reverse any negative effects from them

Brenda Elassal Yes, all the serums can turn green eyes darker. It's a misconception that they blue eyes dark, but you are right to avoid them. I know, I started doing extensions about 4 months ago and it's so addicting!!! This is a good time for me to take a break and restore my lash health!
