If you remarry AFTER age 60, you CAN collect on spouse #1. My question is: If BOTH spouses pass (#1 and #2), can I go back and collect on spouse #1 (married for 22 years but remarried #2 at age 55) - if #2 passes, I'm considered single again...can I collect on #1? #1 SS is hugely higher than mine and husband's #2.

What about if you re-marry but the new spouse isn’t a US citizen so they would not be in the social security system.

Married from 78-86.We divorced.both of us remarried and divorced. In 2000 Me + first wife remarried. She died from cancer 2 mos. Ago.Am i single? Married? Was denied : 1 st for spousal or widowers. Why? Please!!!!!!!!!

Did u read it all?? Married to B.B.78 to86. Divorced. Both remarried and divorced.me= 94 to 96. In 2000 B.B. and I remarried and ended with death from cancer 2 mos. Ago. Married 24 years this time. I took retirement at 62. I worked 12 years. Barbara worked 48 yrs.Got cancer april 2022. I filed for her ssdi. Awarded thru a dire needs compasionate allowance approach..Back payfeom june 2022 to feb. 2024. She was 65 in april.when i started my benefits at62, was told 10 consecutive and less than 50 % earnings over lifetime. Said thats me.SS employee said i could get spousal when she retired. 6 mos younger than me!!!! Cared for her 24/7 for 20 mos.Had hearing on ( phone). Awarded lumpsum.no spousal,no survivors or disability. Why not?

How dose it affect my social security benefits if I am not divorced and still married to javier Gonzalez ok and who filed for divorce and remarried collect under my social security benefits ok I never remarried ok been married to Javier since 2000 I never got remarried and I never filed for divorce I don't know if my husband ex rodica ghinea filed for any benefits and I know she can not collect on my social security benefits if he got remarried to me and he said he divorced her ok this trueth

If you remarry before the age of 60 it will, unless you divorce your second husband.

The remarry deal kill me? I know you know! A friend works for legacy. Wish i did. Barbara was my wife!
