I keep looking around my Linux repos for this "Epic Games launcher" I've heard so much about, but even the AUR doesn't have it. Epic Games supposedly is introducing competition into the PC gaming market, but I've yet to see it. Until it exists on Linux, I don't even have something to complain about, just a mysterious non-entity that makes otherwise multi-OS games fail to appear on their release dates.

Locking away big budget games behind a service that doesn't even have a fucking shopping cart function is not giving consumers an incentive to stay, just to pay for games they want and leave. If they can't keep people coming back, which considering they've said that exclusive grabbing is just a "Temporary measure" it's not very likely, the Epic store will die. Faster than anyone could anticipate. Steam is worse for consumers and worse for businesses *on the store front,* but Steam beats out Epic by a wide margin on the back end and in the end, that's all that matters to 90% of people using a service. Netflix succeed because people want to use their service, Epic will fail because people don't.

Epic games did absolutely nothing to create competition. Epic games is destroying competition. I can buy a game code from any number of 30 different websites and simply download the game or take it to steam and get it. That's what competition is. Removing your game from the largest online game repository and making it exclusive to your own site only is removing competition. Perhaps y'all need the dictionary up there in Canada?
