She did Nd no AC and AS should not marry. C is also a form of sickle cell disorder and if that combines with the S in the other person you have SC which is also not good although not as severe as SS they still face alot of the challenges that SS faces.

I feel faith cannot be totally over ruled in this. I also feel there is no point of no return for intending couples. Saying we have stayed together for long and we can't go back again is not worth it. Meanwhile, as much as I don't encourage As marrying as or As marrying SS I still feel the both parties can have faith if God is giving them the Go ahead. Also the other party should be emotionally and physiologically prepared for what ever that happens. I also feel adoption could be an option for them if they don't have enough faith and are not ready to risk giving birth to SS. Just my opinion.

First of all, It isn't easy to find love in the first place in our today's world. So I can imagine building a relationship with a person for over 7years and then just before getting married, you find out you're both AS genotype. It's like a point of no return at that point; How easy is it to find some other person who is compatible with you in many different ways? How then will you begin to build with that person - isn't that starting afresh? I believe that's some of the questions people in that position ask themselves. This critical decision could have been avoided if both parties were aware of their genetic type on time before going far in their relationship. Notwithstanding, I believe one thing - It doesn't matter whether it is AS, AA or SS; what matters is, "GOD'S WILL FOR YOU". Most people decide on things like marriage without knowing if that person is actually the will of God for them. If you seek the Will of God for your marriage and God's will is that person who is AS with you then if I were in that position I will gladly go on without fear
