They do reduce the performance but note we can change that by changing it's battery. And this reduction only happen to give the user a higher battery backup. Apple had admitted to it and using just a 3 year old iPhone to compare is not gonna show slower performance compared to iPhone 10 or older models

You cant compare the performance of those two phones off of the fact that apple slows down their phones on purpose, the new one is much more capable and has way more power so how can you compare it to a phone from 3 generations ago to see if that phone from 3 generations ago is now slow, you cant compare a new and an old phone of different models
