I’m wearing Calmer Pros right now. I just received them today and I love them right off the bat. I’m the guy who can hear a cricket two blocks away at three in the morning so yes these are much appreciated. Now I hear what I need to hear without all the excess.

Thank you for your detailed review! I purchased the standard Calmer and could not figure out the proper way to wear them. Instructions should be a main photo in their packaging. Now I feel confident in wearing them for the first time today at work. Thank you again.

It might actually make your tinnitus worse because that is a mental noise not a real high pitch frequency and eliminating outside frequencies might make your brain overcompensate

@@LeanMeanAsianCuisine it's supposed to change how sound enters the ear vs blocking it, which is less likely to result in a paradoxical reaction. But that's moot because they did nothing lol. I switched to Loop which have helped.

These are not earplugs. They do not dampen sound. The reduce ambient sound in the ear canal for sound sensitive people with misophonia and hyperacusis. I’d imagine it would help those with MEM as well.

I got the Calmer Pros. They are a mix of aluminum and silicone. Easy to clean and easy to put in and take out. I feel like they improve my stress levels over time. I have ASD and I'm very sensitive to various sounds, smells, etc. Mine were also simply packaged in a cardboard envelope of sorts, not the box pictured, and the envelope had also been squashed and damaged during transit, but luckily the Calmers themselves had not been damaged. The bag they came with doesn't seem like a safe way to store something this small and expensive, they could just drop out of it, unless you tie it up extremely tight.

I found they work for me to reduce overstimulation from a busy noisy room, eg work. I like that I can still hear as my job require it. In a quiet setting I may as well not wear them. 😊

i first used the calmer night mini after buying a standard + mini combo pack, and the standards were too big, so i stuck with the mini at night at first, all because dogs kept waking my with barking at night, which used to make me then stree cry for a few hours til ii could fall back to sleep. Using them at night didn't keep the dogs sudden bark from waking me, but they did stop me from crying from stress after being awakened from the dogs sudden barking. lSoon after for nighttime I quickly changed to 32 db reducing soft ear plugs at night and switched the Calmer night to daytime wear. The first day i got them and put in the calmer nights in the evening before bed I could feel my tension in my shoulders and arms and neck melting away immediately, so they were great for me. I loved wearing them during the daytime. Last week i lost one of my pair, and so have gone without them, even using only one soft ear plug during the day to see if that helps, and since i"m feeling the tension in those places again during the day I am going to order another pair of Calmer night mini's.

What would you recommend for something that does the same as calmer but also does lower frequency because highpitch bothers me, but so does engines revving. But I also don't want something like loop that makes my voice sound like I'm wearing normal ear plugs. I also don't want to hear my breathing or my heart beat.

But Flare have even said that their products don't help tinnitus? It seems very odd that the tinnitus foundation are promoting this, considering the product doesn't help in any way. I personally use these due to neighbour noise. I've had them a couple of days and to be honest, I really don't know what they're doing. They're definitely doing something, I just can't put my finger on it. It doesn't dampen sound, but I would say they focus your ears on what is in front of you instead of what's around you. *I don't know* ! Is it a placebo? Anyone else feeling the same?

they're not loops (my beloved, best on the market), but they're good for situations where earplugs are prohibited- for example, i can't wear any earplugs during exams, so i'm using these as a loophole (they're not true earplugs.) very minimal noise reduction, but it's better than nothing. i do wish they'd make the stems cuter somehow. maybe making the tip into a star shape or having cuter color options?

Loop is like a pair of fancy looking Ohropax ear plugs. I have Calmer and Loop. Anyone looking to reduce noise like any common ear plug should get Loop or buy 3M or Alpine ones (cheaper and have the same effect). To dampen sharp sounds e.g. sirens or when someone starts a motocycle and such but still want to hear things clearly then Calmer. Calmer takes the sharp edges of high pitched sounds, which help a lot if you're sensitive to them.

I lost mine but.. 1. I could tell the difference in sound when wearing them as opposed to not 2. They did seem to make noise more bearable But I doubt these two statements now as I haven't worm them in a while since I lost them and they definitely weren't comfortable to wear.

@@NasiLemakTech Hi. Omg. Sorry for all the errors in my comment. I've remedied it. I have multiple languages in my keypad and didn't proof read. Sorry. 🙏🏻 Yes I will let you know. I sure them all day yesterday and didn't notice a difference with the incessant barking, cars honking, kids screaming as they pass. I live in between two schools just to add. The noises that are really ruining me are the music here. Heavy Bass music. I have 5 neighbours who play it so loud all day, every day, most nights. I can't live like this for much longer. It was calm last night, for a change so I have not tried the shades yet. They seem promising though.

I got the mini's because even ear buds are usually too big for my small ear canals. I noticed a dampening of the harsh sounds, which is nice. I also have significant high frequency tinnitus, but my audiologist believes that is a brain thing 🤷‍♀and sounds do not affect it, so these do not help that.

I got Loop Quiet (I think that's the name). Very, very comfortable and even kinda fashionable looking, but significantly reduces hearing. I would wear those on a plane to block out sound or for sleeping. I wear Eargasm and Hearprotek musician's earplugs out in the world, as they heavily block noise while still allowing me to hear enough for safety. I plan on trying Loop Experience (like musician's earplugs) soon. I wear Flare Calmer in my home for minimal sensory reduction in a less noisy environment. I wouldn't use Flare Calmer to block traffic noise as it would be inadequate protection.
