Brother I would definitely cut that rear hoop back a little bit at least go no more than the length of the tank, if you go longer than that tank it doesn't look proportional right, but if you keep it the same length as that gas tank it looks a lot better

Agreed 100%. We settled on a 23" long seat so we'll end up shortening the hoop by around 4-5 inches. The tip of the hoop will end up just past the rear axle. Should improve the proportions quite a bit.

@@michaelsams450 absolutely agreed it will definitely look better, I can't wait to see what this one looks like, I have a 73 DOHC 450 myself and I'm just trying to get the wiring cleaned up to start with, it has just over 10,000 miles and I picked her up for 600 with the title, but I might need to get someone's help to help me with cleaning up the wiring because I am not electrically inclined

I found a 72 cl450 for 1500 . Half way through the process of cafe racer transformation . Any thoughts ? PS I had to to comment once you said Texas 😏

Are you the one that's half way through the cafe build, or are you considering buying someone else's half finished build?
@@xtexasxpridexttv1364 I would just make sure the major components are there and that the bike runs before even considering it. Buying a project can quickly get very expensive if the previous owner has lost/damaged/poorly modified/etc. parts that you end up needing to replace. Be very wary of frame modifications that have been done if you don't have 100% confidence in the seller's fabrication/welding skills. Good luck!

@@michaelsams450 heard that . The guy backed out and said he didn’t want to sell . I think I had a gem on my hands / steal. Just found an 82 Honda gl500 for 850 . It looks like it’s in better condition too .

I made it out of some mandrel bends and a collector that I found online.

And by the way brother I really really like that custom exhaust of yours dude, it looks damn good for it being homemade, would you be up for making another one for another cb450? And I actually don't really like seeing two into ones on twins but you're two into one looks really really good man, keeping it nice and tight to the frame definitely helped make it look better, I am very much impressed with that exhaust system of yours and I would love to actually purchase one from you if you can build another one
