It's not my business but I suspect he wants to believe but still has doubts. I agree that what one does is more important than what one believes. And I agree that it isn't easy to believe in God. Going to church seems to be the least of it. And if that belief makes you treat your fellows better it is valid, but if it doesn't can you call yourself a believer?

I am a great admirer of Mr. Peterson, but his beliefs concerning religion seem a bit odd to me. Almost like he tends to put the religious anekdotes into a direction, so they justify his attitude of life (which I, again, think is admirable!) Sorry for my lack of language, I am not a native speaker.

How does someone so eloquent lose the ability to clearly communicate answers to pivotal questions of substance. The simple answer is he's being deceitful.

He thinks that belief in god is to live without sin. But as Christians we believe that all humans are sinners. I think he’s overanalysed the concept because he’s trying to apply epistemology to a belief system that relies on pure faith in Jesus being the path to god. I just hope Jesus makes him understand why it’s ok to believe without having to overanalyse that belief.
