It's been about 2 years since S9 aired and I still find myself coming back to this scene rewatching it because of how beautifully written and executed it was by these two actors. I just love how vulnerable and raw LB& E were with each other. They were open and honest about their fears and worries but as both of them said when expressing their doubts out loud it sounded silly because they knew each other better ❤️ And when they said those three sweet ,tender words to each other - I love you - the expressions on their faces, especially Elizabeth's 🥰This is the Lucas and Lizzy that I fell in love with. Both Chris and Erin did a phenomenal job in bringing LB&E's love story to life on screen even starting in S6. And it is such a shame that it has been wasted for a twisted retcon! This new version of E is just so heartbreaking how selfish and self-serving her character has become 😞

One of the many things that I LOVE about this show is the complexity of a character like Lucas. We have seen such vulnerability in discussing his childhood and upbringing. We have seen his self doubt in his business decisions and the desire to do the right thing and what happens when it gets out of his control. We have seen his love for Elizabeth and his love for little Jack evolve so so much this season. It’s just so many layers and the build up to I love you as a small moment because there have been so many other declarations of love in so many ways this season (and really since season six .. the library the book etc..) it was almost redundant to hear the actual words.

If Lucas chooses to leave Hope Valley, then Elizabeth had better stay far away from using and abusing Nathan for a second go-around. What she did in pitting Lucas and Nathan against each other while playing them on puppet strings, was disgusting, to say the very least. If Lucas should ultimately leave at one point in the future, I hope by then, that Nathan will have genuinely fallen in love with a beautiful, spectacular woman of real character, who will bring the greatest love, joy, adventure, and blessings to both Nathan and Allie. Elizabeth should NEVER be romantically involved with Nathan ever again. She simply does NOT deserve him.

Elizabeth didnt use anyone!!! Neither did she abuse anyone. i dont understand the need to make false interpretations or thinking Nathan is some poor old dude. No Elizabeth was going through something and she did tell Nathan NO couple of times but he did not get it and HE is the one who kept pushing and also kept a big secret. Elizabeth was NEVER felt anything romantically for Nathan as cleared up in last season. Elizabeth deserves better and she has it. Lucas is coming back cos he was never going to leave Elizabeth and he went on a horse not his car lol.

Is Lucas a good guy? He seems to attract and do business people of questionable reputations. Are his intentions honorable? Don’t get wishy washy with the other people of Hope Valley. Viewer’s interest gets lost very easily. The writers should be seasoned enough to keep our interest.

Lucas has always been a good guy. Honourable and upstanding. Seen each season. Lucas business - oil bussiness is cos of Gowen... Lucas was silent partner but Henry was undercutting the business so Lucas took over and was paying the workers out of his own pocket. He wants to sell the Oil business but FIona goes ahead and makes a deal with shifty ppl to get the Mine open. Not Lucas fault. Walden and Spurlock are grifters meaning taking all businesses so to open a foundry. They went after Lucas cos he has the saloon - the most important building in Hope Vally. So its not Lucas fault. And yes he is selfless and honourable since he came!!

Firstly Chris McNally is a fantastic actor. Last years so called result was based on build up and who it was all along which was Lucas. Go and rewatch who had the build up and who Elizabeth felt around.
