yes mate. There is no doubt that you can buy love in Thailand or any other country. If you are looking for love in bars...good luck. I had my share of that in the 90's. Now I am with a beautiful partner. she has her own business in Suphan Buri. Some people just don't realise that there is life outside of the red light districts and there are a lot of ladies that may want to start a friendship. One tip though...groom and shower and don't walk around in a singlet, shorts and flip flops.

What you give to your family is worth more than a pot of gold, it is real love with your heart and soul. I have learned over time that helping and giving to others has made me the strongest person I can be. I am glad your son is learning all this now while is mind is growing and he will never forget the values you have taught him. Your wife is lucky she can eat all those sweet things and still stay petite as she is. When you show pictures from your past, those memories have made you grow to become the best that are now and will be for the future. Keep it up family, I like to listen to your great wisdom.

I had the same experience. My Thai wife was an accountant and when we married, the family asked for no dowry, but we "staged" the 200 thousand baht dowry for "face" in the community and then they gifted it back to me the next day with a bonus of 1 Rai of land on the riverfront. These are also very simple people, who want for nothing and never asked me for anything... Like yourself, I had to "gift" them things and literally run, so they had to accept it :). REAL THAILAND is so much different from the "semi normal" rhetoric posted by others who lost money due to picking the wrong person to love.... Life is great for you Ryan and I really enjoy watching your journey with your loved ones.

(She was 19 and I was 21 at the time. Asked her father and he immediately said yes. Never asked me for a penny. The Thai people are a very friendly people and if as a foreigner you show some respect, you will get it in return. A lot of people can be very small minded on there views on Thailand as regards relationships . At the end of the day Ryan you have worked hard on your relationship and been lucky enough to find a wonderful partner are are blessed to have a Otis . The people with not nice opinions of Thailand and Thai relationships have never been to Thailand, they need to visit before they offer there opinions . I do think it is hard to bring a Thai girl out of Thailand into western society though as they are very family orientated and would miss Thailand . Thais love to visit the west but a large percentage of them can't live in the west for those reasons . Another great video Ryan you look so chilled out there mate .

Another interesting vlog Ryan, one that has soooo many answers or views, in my experience the Thai`s in the vast majority are hard working humble friendly people, anyone can buy love in any country in the world , the generalization and denigration of Thai Ladies normally comes from the fortnight millionaires who have no respect for the people whose land they have visited.

Beautiful happy family living a beautiful happy life! I celebrate my 10th Anniversary with my Thai wife this December (in Buriram, Theyve dropped the quarantine at last!) She moved to the UK 9 years ago, we have a successful business (Thai Takeaway), and Ive never known a more grounded, unselfish, hard working person in all my 67 years! She knew I had nothing more to offer than love, support, and a goal to be happy. Yes, over 20 years age difference, she came here to help get her two daughters through a good Uni in BKK, which they both have now done.We do intend to move to Thailand in the next few years after we sell the business (hopefully!) It annoys me so much that the general opinion of the average non Thai guy is that every Thai woman is an ex bar girl, and a gold digger. They exist, yes, but only a very small percentage. And those who are have often been forced into it to feed their kids. I wish you all the very best of health, wealth and happiness. And, by the way, your little girl is gorgeous!

Hey mate. Loving the videos. I've been here about 25 years now. Been with my wife since 1998. We met at University. There was a large period of our relationship where she was earning more than me too. We paid a dowry when we got married which was given back to us the following week. Her folks were government teachers in Surin (they're retired now) and the dowry was more of a 'face' thing for the family. It would have been the same if she was marrying a Thai lad. They helped with our first house deposit and we now have quite a bit of property and land in both Surin city and country. All gifted by the family. I've been very lucky, and I appreciate not everyone has this experience, but I think it's important for newer expats, etc, to know the other side of the story too. I'd love to swing passed for a cuppa on my next trip out to Surin.

Sawatdee kup Ryan, enjoyed the vlog...interesting and like when you guys can get into the city for a change. It does spice up you vlogs! I have been lucky and blessed as well to meet a lovely Thai lady. Been married for just over 4 years. She knew from the start I was not rich, (actually just skimping by).. lived a simple life...she worked in a well to do import export business and probably earned more than me lol. I brought her over to Canada so we could both work and save as I will retire next year and we can move back to Thailand. Never once has her family or she asked for money...we are very happy together. Can't wait to get back to Thailand, she likes Canada but too cold in the winter Ha! Until next weekend cheers to you, Damo & Otis!

I just subscribed... I spent some time watching your channel. You are perhaps, atleast the only one so far. That just spends time normal... lol... no opinions per say or philosophy. No bashing countries and promoting Thailand. You just show life on the farm and it's a Thai style farm. What we would call a large garden. But it is great. Oddly the other channels and I don't want to really bash on them. Try to make it obvious they are "expats "... and in Thailand and... yeah. Watching you..so far.. it's relatable. Sure you're in Thailand and that is what makes it interesting. But it is relatable. I have been to Thailand. Many..many years ago. I won't go into detail no need. But had a wonderful relationship with a wonderful woman from northern Thailand. Her family had a wonderful large rice farm. Unfortunately I couldn't get her Visa and I was in the military and was unable to stay overseas long enough to make it work. Many many years ago. Just don't change anything. You have a great family and wonderful outlook on life. I am looking forward to seeing your future posts.

I couldn’t agree more! I have been married to a wonderful Thai woman for more than twenty years and she nor her family have ever asked for a penny. She is tighter than me and that is saying something as I am Scottish! I was so money orientated before I met her and she brought sense and meaning to my life which cost nothing. We are fairly wealthy but live a happy life on very little travelling the world. She is not materialistic in any way and taught me to be the same. She worked in the “Big C” supermarket head office before I met her and has a lovely family, some rich and some poor. I suppose it matters where you meet your wife and how the relationship started off. I agree that if you meet someone and there is an exchange of money at the beginning, you have to expect that this is likely to be an ongoing arrangement rather than love. There are lots of horror stories but I have heard much more good than bad, by far! Just do your due diligence, take your time, suss them and their family out then enjoy the rest of your life with the best person ever. Thanks for your videos!

I travelled around Thailand after being so fortunate to time my trip right before COVID kicked in around the world, I remember that flight in early February 2020 and how empty the country became by March 2020. Thank God for that decision. I spent 4 months and had a varied experience but never did I think people were obsessed with money like most of my peers here in London. Koh Kood was one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Pai and the Northern circuit were also incredible. Love your podcast and your KZbin channel. Much love.
