Just picked one up, appreciate your review. We're getting some snow tonight, so I'll update this post in the morning.

Just got 6" of snow, some areas with the wind were 12-18" deep. First time using this blower, it worked great. It definitely does throw the fluffier snow 40'. I was also disappointed with the scraper. Even worked really good on the porch.

Thanks for confirming what we suspected. Can't get on board with battery power when it comes to snow launching. The Toro single stage is a beast and cleans down to the concrete without leaving the driveways looking like they were raked. The adjustment on the chute is a non issue as we've always simply reached and urned the chute as it only takes about 3 seconds which is inconsequential compared to having to run a shovel over the entire driveway after using the DeWalt battery operated machine. When it comes to heavy deep wet snow, the 2 stage monster comes out and has never so much as flinched, even with 4' drifts with the drift cutters installed. Hope your doggos doing okay, bro.

Great tool and happy with my purchase. Battery life is great, leaving 1mm of snow isn't an issue for me. I cleared two good sized driveways and roughly 300ft of sidewalks and still had plenty of life left in it and that was on normal mode. Don't expect it to clear icy plow snow at the end of your driveway like a 2 stage would, but if it's not icy and just wet and heavy you can definitely do it by slicing away at the amount bit by bit. Very happy with my purchase.

Gonna wait for a gen 2 version of this thing. Or maybe something from Milwaukee.

thanks for the review. i'n gong to stick with Honda single stage gas powered snow blower for now. I was hoping to make the switch over to battery (was thinking Ego and not Dewalt, but i have Dewalt power tools). Your video makes me rethink my approach, but I'm still going to wait on the big switch over battery. Plus, I live in northwest Ohio and for the moment we don't have any snow on the ground. That makes me really happy, but mother nature will change that next week.

It looks like this is more efficient on the batteries than other blowers. But at what cost? Leaving snow that’s still remaining on the surface, not throwing snow as far, and all plastic construction.
@QuarterRican04Ай бұрын
Great review, it answered my question if the snow blower was good enough to justify staying solely in the dewalt ecosystem. Lookin forward to adding this to my lawn mower that i love too

it is a must buy if you are on flexvolt platform, those battery almost half price plus charger but I am not dewalt platform at all. It is very convenient when everything using same platform battery

I don’t know over 900 bucks for that thing. Why don’t you let us know in about a year or maybe two years and how the battery is holding up and how it works. Jim.
@WorkshopAddict10 ай бұрын
I understand. That includes 2 FlexVolt 12Ah batteries. I will use those year around for other tools. It is a lot of money for something that is not perfect! But I would rather have my money here than in a battery platform that was only used to snow blow and string trim.
@randomrazr10 ай бұрын
their top end lawn mower with 12 amp batteries is close to that price so not to surprised.....for that kind of money though i put it towards an Ego because they have alot more expeirence with battery snow blowers

I never looked at EGO as a company with experience. They built their first snow blower in 2015-ish? Toro has way more experience and makes gas and battery models.
@TheOknidius10 ай бұрын
@@WorkshopAddict EGO has a lot of experience! Experience in releasing the same product every year with a slightly improved widget. Ok, I'll stop blasting EGO. The EGO snow shovel is amazing. I've done 1 foot snow storms with that and nasty compacted wet snow windrows from the snow plows, but for their mowers and string trimmers, it's one a year and only marginally different
@thehhoff6910 ай бұрын
You don't have to buy it in a kit, they have the bare tool for $699. Home Depot is the only place I've seen that has it available (online only), but they do offer a bare tool.
@WorkshopAddict10 ай бұрын
My point was more about the two batteries you get in the kit and that you should buy it in the kit. Sorry.
@thehhoff6910 ай бұрын
@@WorkshopAddict No need to apologize, I got you and agree. I was more saying it for other people reading the comments in case they prefer a bare tool option.

FYI: My EGO 2400 couldn't get my gravel driveway on a hill done today. We had a foot of snow, followed by several hours of rain, resulting in a couple of inches of an icy, slushy mess under 8" of heavy, wet snow. I don't think my old Ariens would have done the job, either, though.
@Grandpuba106910 ай бұрын
And this dewalt wouldn’t come close to doing that either, jus saying

I picked one up after watching this video. I set it up and turned it on the fault indicator was on (steady not blinking) so it wouldn't run. Manual has no fix other than to power off and power back on. It states if that doesn't fix it take it to a service provider. It did not work so I returned it.

Thinking about getting the bare tool one as I have 2 9ah batteries already. Hmm 🤔

You have to do what is right for you, but Two 12 Ah batteries for $300 is an amazing deal right now. Do you need them, we'll, that is your call. Worse case, offer them up to a friend who might want them.

would of liked to see it trying to move more than a couple inches.. i usually only get the snowblower out when theres 8-16" of snow in the driveway... or even if you only got a few inches of snowfall it often piles up in drifts will it do anything to a pile of snow or just stall out immediately? doesnt seem like a great candidate for battery power seeing as 6-8hp gas motors often bog down in snow blowers... but i guess they made lawn mowers work which have a similar power demand.. havent used any electric mower though i suspect they only work if you cut the grass twice a week so its barely clipping a half inch off the top
@WorkshopAddict10 ай бұрын
We have a storm coming this weekend where we MIGHT get 8" total. That is a HUGE storm for us. I would suspect this would be way to slow to clear 12" of snow and battery life would be horrible. Go gas for that!
@AndrewBrowner10 ай бұрын
@@WorkshopAddict for sure.. i wont be buying another till the gasser dies which might not be this decade since it only sees a few uses a year just curious if it can do anything for a drift in the middle of the driveway, if you have 2" of snow but then one 16" high drift will it power through that or just amp out everytime it touches snow across the entire auger face
@WorkshopAddict10 ай бұрын
I would not want to use it in a 16" drift. I think a solid 6 to 8" is going to be where this is most comfortable.
@TheOknidius10 ай бұрын
The Toro 60V you showed a few years ago has a much cleaner snow throwing arc, as do EGO and Ryobi.. This DeWalt sprays the snow in a very messy arc where a huge chunk falls between the snow blower and the furthest distance it can throw; it's almost as bad as the Greenworks and Snow Joes. For that price, with Dewalt's name and MDT's experience, I would expect better.
@WorkshopAddict10 ай бұрын
My Toro would throw this snow pretty much the same. It is very wet. But the toro would clean the driveway better!

Someone gave me a DeWalt 20 volt mower, the kind that requires two batteries. It had no blade or blade adapter and I couldn't find that unique adapter ANYWHERE until I went onto MTDs website. So I'd wager that blower is also an MTD product. Comparing the DeWalt mower to our Greenworks, the DeWalt is much cheaper over all, the controls feel flimsy, plastic rattling sound on the handle, the handle is non adjustable for height....they kinda phoned it in.

No the dewalt is better than the greenworks my brother has the greenworks and it's flimsy

Devil's advocate... cleaning down to the concreate is a loosing proposition over time. Unless you have a big heavy gauge steel you're just going to be grnding down the bottom of your blower. I used a 3 year old snow joe and I could see the bottom that comes in contact with the driveway was all worn away

Boeing makes a spray designed for snowblowers. It lubricates the chute and blades so that snow and ice doesn't stick to it. It's really great when the snow is slushy. Sorry, not Boeing, Dupont.
