The competition is far closer to Snap-On quality than Snap-On is to the competition's prices. If I need something and the Snap On guy comes through first, he gets the sale. But if the MATCO guy comes through first, then he'll be the one getting my business. I've even got some Harbor Freight Shittsburgh and Icon. Even Quinn. Remember, kids, the tools don't make the mechanic. The mechanic makes the tools. We've all seen the guy with the fully loaded Snap-On box covered in ASE badges who can't fix a fucking sammich. And we've all seen the guy who works miracles out of a 5 gallon bucket of unidentifiable rusty junk tools

Also if ordering just do Williams since they're Snap On sister company and 1/2 - 1/4 the price.

Snap On pretty much sell themselves, massively loyal following and plenty of wannabe tool junkies so keen to part with high amounts of cash! If you can afford to buy the franchise then it's a no brainer!

As long as you get paid. Everyone expects a truck account on a handshake credit check ("He's good, He's good!" until "he no here no more") and being a cool good dude for security. When enough defaults stop paying at the same time everything can end unless you have a deep war chest to draw from.

Of the tools they actually make Snap On is the leader. They invented many good things. But they also sell some of the same tools as everyone else but for a higher price because you are paying for the dealer to be there for you for everything else. Be choosey.

You need about 400k total. About 200k on the street on a 5 week turn. And you might make 50k a year. Been there. And you get to chase people down to get paid. Rough business to get started in

Best of luck with the franchise. (un?)fortunately we have entered the golden age of tools. Higher quality across the board and massive competition have entered the playing field for those who can't afford Snap On. Matco, Mac, Cornhole, are fading away . Snap on dealers still surviving and evidently thriving .(?)

Over the last 30 years. I have been able to observe, what has happened to technicians, who have gotten involved with the, snap-on, long-term financing program. So this is what happens... Technician signs up for a contract, let's say, a 20-year financing program.. and then I'm going like gangbusters, for two or three years. And then a company like.... General motors comes down and cuts their warranty times in half. The technicians leave that dealership, because they can't afford to drive to work anymore. At those rates. And then they spend 2 to 3 months, looking for a job... And they get delinquent on their payments. Snap-on turns around and soothe them. Gets a judgement against them..... That allows the snap-on guy to take whatever they want, to satisfy that bill. I've watched, the snap-on guy, roll a $40,000 boat, out of somebody's backyard..... With the sheriff standing there, watching the whole thing go down. To satisfy a $400 bill. I watched a Snap-On guy, take a 25,000 mustang..... From a shop owner.... To satisfy $250 bill. Essentially, snap-on agents, make their money from civil asset forfeiture. end the system perpetuates, until somebody like me, who reads the fine print on that contract and tells a Snap-On guy.... Get the f*** out.... Don't come back. My technicians work for me. Not you.

They ain't taking no $25,000 car for a $250 bill or $40,000 boat for $400 😂. That's not how that works. It's not even worth them or anyone filing for that small. It gets sold to debt collector for pennies on the dollar. They aren't suing until it hits thousands and even then they ain't taking no car as payment. It would go through court system which they won't accept property. Other wise yeah Snap On is th devil and for people who buy $5,000 Les Paul and hang it on the wall.

“Only 8k for this tool set.” Haha, good luck. “Sold 3 this week.” Damn, you da man lol. I like SnapOn, just picked up one of the new 100 tooth ratchets Monday. I just can’t bring myself to pay for those wrenches.

Yeah, but he may never see the money. "Sold" on a tool truck doesn't really mean what "sold" means in a drugstore or a supermarket. It's probably financed with some payment plan that won't necessarily pan out.
