A weeping, confused defendant, unrepresented, despite assignment, in custody, being pressured into signing a form so that she can be dragged out of the state while trying to ascertain what is going on; with questions ignored, is not freely and voluntarily. Proceeding in that matter is shameful and disgusting.

Yeah that crusty asshole just didn’t want to deal. Whether he wanted to deal or not, most judges would have someone meet with her at the VERY minimum for 5 minutes to go through a pros and cons list regarding extradition. Totally unfair and shameful.

I came here to say the same. I'm not American, I am English & I am trying to understand your laws, but even I can see this was ALL KINDS OF WRONG. That woman had NO CLUE what she was doing, saying or signing and the judge simply washed his hands of her. He took no notice of the questions she was asking - she was clearly distraught and he just wanted to get her out of the state and out of what little hair he has left! DISGRACEFUL! And Mike... You were right - it was truly horrible!!

Right move to fight that 6-year-old case. I got a phone call a couple years ago from a textbook company-not a debt collector-saying I owed thousands of dollars for not returning textbook rentals when I was in college in *2014*! Now, did I indeed not return some rentals? I have no idea. But I’ll be damned if I pay for something I’m just hearing about SEVEN years later. I hung up and never heard from them again. Lol. They were even naming off these textbooks which maybe sounded familiar but idk, I’ve had a lot of textbooks in my life and they all kinda sound the same. Always fight something if it’s coming up for the first time that long after the fact. ✊🏿

YUP. at minimum, she clearly didn’t understand the technicalities and needed a lawyer there. that was horrible to watch. they were already in the process of appointing a lawyer for her, and then they jumped into a damn *extradition waiver* pro se?!! even after doing that, the judge should have withdrawn the waiver since it was abundantly clear the waiver was not knowing or voluntary.

@@jilliansmaniotto2326this is some civil procedure housekeeping. She's not being deported to another country lol an extradition waiver just means she's not going to sit in jail waiting on a governor's warrant. She's waiving that warrant to speed things along. That crying one was sad, very hard to watch. She’s so fried that she didn’t even understand what she was waiving, she should’ve just waited to talk to an attorney first. I’m sure she thought that waiving extradition is what the court wanted her to do and she believed that doing what they wanted her to do would make them more likely to set a lower bond. It’s even more pathetic when you account for the fact that the original charge is for synthetic cannabinoids… you’ve gotta be pretty dumb to get into that stuff to begin with.

Yes I agree. I’m just disgusted that the judge gave her ZERO help or information, and the prosecutor just allowed it as well. Anyone with half a brain and some semblance of compassion would see she was CLEARLY unable to understand or deal with anything in front of her. Hospital, sedate for 24 hours, get her half-assed back to the world and then IF she isn’t totally gone (mentally), have a lawyer sit with her for 20 mins and explain. This shithead of a magistrate who should have retired 20 years ago, just wanted to get her out of their court system regardless of the cost - sending her right back to the abuse she fled. Two heartless, brainless and dickless men right there! FFS that was awful to watch. I have to believe Mike wasn’t paying attention. 🤷‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤮🤮🤬

The Bond there is $10K and the Judge is trying to give her legal counsel to fight extradition or claim and confirm Kansas has no right to hold her in custody. Not only is she admitting knowledge of the case but understands she has legal representation in Kansas that can now be forced by Kansas to testify as to their knowledge of her knowledge. WOW

Some states allow a fugitive from another state to be released on bond pending extradition. Theres some bureaucracy involved in effecting the transfer. Hesitant to say more than that because I don't live there.

Hi Mike.....just caught this live, it was quite a ride. I live in Kansas, grew up in Missouri. Differing opinions, but we always pronounced it Missour-ee. I still do. I'm not social media savvy, except for you tube. I'm trying to figure out where to join your group for live chats. Will keep looking. Thanks !

Yeah, it's "EE" over in St. Louis too. "AH" is mostly out-state areas. I think "EE" is spreading though.

I lived in both Kansas City and St. Louis. Both say MissourEE. It's only in the rural parts where they say MissourAH as far as I could figure.

I refuse to mispronounce city or state names just because the locals do. I grew up in Pennsylvania where the locals in a specific town pronounced it as do boys instead of the correct french pronunciation of Du Bois.

That poor girl.that was abused from her last partner and was crying. The judge wasn't very clear with her. She didn't understand. I know she was a bit scattered but he needed to break things down and use simple words and terms for her.

AFA Ms. Krieger, could be substance abuse, but if she's having her first experience being arrested, it can be pretty traumatic. AFA the extradition issue it's would seem like you're correct. Unless they're letting her bond out and keeping track of her for extradition.

Well, I feel terrible. That poor woman is a mess. She needs assistance in the worst way. She needs an advocate but that’s not the way the system works, and she’s clearly got mental health and legal issues that were painful to listen too. You need some cards, Mike. Ones that have from 1-5 🚨fires on them. You did give us a heads up, but come on! That was a 5🚨🔥! 😂

actually, that’s exactly how the system works. she needed an advocate before they pushed her through the extradition waiver - and that advocate is the appointed attorney she is legally entitled to and the court was in the process of appointing. it’s despicable how the judge and prosecutor handled that situation. that waiver wasn’t remotely knowing or voluntary. they needed to appoint her a lawyer, and address the extradition question at a later date.

The woman in Kansas really just needs to talk to the lawyer she already has, and that's the only advice anyone should be giving her. if the situation in Kansas is bad, her Missouri lawyer should be able to tell her what to do.

she should have been given the opportunity to talk to a kansas attorney before the judge even attempted to have the extradition waiver colloquy. that was insane. it was incredibly inappropriate.
