There was a time, believe it or not, when filmmakers were literally bound by contract to produce films that were morally and ethically sound (The Hays Code 1934-1968).
Hollywood producers knew that the messages people absorb via film, television, and music are hugely impactful - and they took their influence seriously. Yet at the same time, censorship is wrong, Censoring art is the equivalent of censoring a person's own mind.
The title of this video is 'Does the film director Quentin Tarantino corrupt his audience?'
This is a question that Quentin Tarantino himself, has already answered.
In his own book 'Cinema Speculation' Tarantino stated “It takes a magnificent filmmaker to thoroughly corrupt an audience.”
It is very clear that Quentin Tarantino believes that the best filmmakers can take their audience and captivate them into following characters that are morally corrupt. Why does Tarantino populate his movies with such morally dubious characters, and what does this say about us, the audience, who revel in his corruptible creations?
