Skin colour is a beautiful characteristic, just like all the other features of your body. Does it make us different in some sense? Yes, and it is nothing to be afraid of. Does it affect our spiritual journey? Only as much as everything else does. Because of ignorance and racism people have had to go through very tough ordeals, but the spiritual journey is about overcoming those mundane matters. It is not just skin colour alone that has brought both wonders and challenges into people's lives but it is all their characteristics. I come from a Christian background, and we are taught that we are all brothers and sisters, all family, all descendants of the first human beings (Adam and Eve). We are one species, one body. When we discriminate against the other we discriminate against ourselves. When we cause others harm we are harming ourselves. We might not realise it at this moment but there will come a time when we will.

@@deepika343 sure my friend. In the world of outdoorsmen and hunters there is a common known thing to fire your rifle in the air 3 times because it makes a loud noise and is a known emergency signal. Obviously a cross bow shooting arrows makes no sound, or not much of one at least, so it is useless as a signal device. It's understandable why many would not understand this though

Their question was from the idea that light clothes reflect energy more than dark. An uneducated guess is that since skin is a living tissue, it's energy barrier properties depend upon physical, mental, and spiritual states. In that respect, tattoos consist of dead ink, and might, in theory, create a break in the barrier. Even if that is true, a heavily tattooed person might still be more protected from external energy sources than a non-tattooed person, depending upon their inner states.

The answer can be derived from what he said about different colored clothing for spiritual purposes: i.e, it does have an impact, and in that sense skin color is like a layer of clothing you can never change. You just have to be independent-minded enough to make the obvious conclusion even though no one is there to connect A and B for you. Isabel probably just wanted to see if he would confirm this or not. Rather than connecting those dots for us (with potentially disastrous consequences for people who are too identified with the body), he thought it was more important to remind people that enlightenment is attainable regardless of whether you can have the exact right colors etc. for your path, and to reinforce the right understanding of the body: as either an impediment or not, which is in your hands to determine regardless of race. boom controversy over

The point of the question on weather skin color affects your spirituality or so called enlightenment related that Sadguru has said to avoid wearing black clothes because it absorbs negative vibes seemed to have gotten lost and he did not answer weather that also relates to dark or near black skin color. I remember watching this Satsung live and thought Sadhguru's answer was a little unfair. Isha goes into alot about the type of clothing that should be worn for certain spaces and events. From wearing all white or all black. The significance of wearing orange and so forth. It's a natural logical question to wonder if ones skin color would effect them in this way. Not as a hierarchy or someone is better than the other. Is it racist that fair skin people need to be more careful in the sun?

It's grossly over simplistic to analogize clothing color to skin color. Don't forget Sadhguru said dark clothes can absorb all energies, and if in some circumstance you DO want to absorb the energies - maybe some circumstance with positive energies - then DO wear dark clothes. So, it must be true that dark clothing can absorb positive energies as well as negative. Now, on to the way clothing color and skin color are NOT the same. Dark skin does NOT absorb as much light as lighter skin, hence darker people can tolerate way more sun without damage to their cells and health. This is scientific fact....not belief. Melanin protects skin cells from UV damage, and it's absolutely necessary to life as you get closer to the equator -- the darker the better to support life. The original question of whether skin color can impact spiritual growth was put to a brown-skinned guru, who himself gets even darker in sun. Does that make any sense at all? And what about Krishna? In my own experience, judging by people's behaviors there is no relationship between skin color and spiritual advancement. I believe geopolitical history shows the same - again.... judging by people's behaviors.
