The fact DK has never had a barrel throw attack is baffling. It’s such an iconic move in both the arcade game and the Country games. Also please let him use his Coconut Gun Sakurai. Also would love to see Funky as an Echo, the DK 64 Crew and Candy as assist trophy’s, Dixie as a fighter ,and maybe Cranky as a full fighter too.

Wow. You know, I always felt like the DKC series was very lacking in Smash Bros, but I was never quite able to put it into words on why exactly... but you did it! These are my exact thoughts! Compared to most Nintendo Franchises, they all have something cool that separates them from the rest. Kid Icarus has Palutena's Guidance, Pokemon has the Pokeball item, Kirby has the copy abilities, Fire Emblem has the meme where there's a lot of characters, Xenoblade has the unique character gimmicks... but DK... well... kind of nothing Although I feel like you missed a few things 1. I counted, out of the 29 DK songs in Smash, 8 of them is literally just DK Island Swing, well different versions sure, and you might say that's not much, until you look at the rest of the songs. Most other songs are from exclusively DKC 1, like not even the versions from DKCR, but from the OG, and that makes sense I guess, but the DKCR editions are just objectively better. Not a single song from DKC 3, DK Rap was heavily cut down, no Diddy Kong Racing... I'd say Ultimate made the selection a little bit better, but c'mon, don't you think there should be some variety? 2. The fact DK didn't have his roll ability until SMASH 4 is criminal, like Diddy literally had it in Brawl but not DK, isn't that weird? And it's weird how they went with the hand slap ability in 64 when I'm pretty sure most players don't even know you could do that in DKC 1, even then that one was pretty situational. It's worse by the fact that the kicking dash attack is infamous for being, well, you know, terrible? 3. I agree with the fact that he shouldn't throw Barrels in his moveset, mainly because it just wouldn't really fit into his play style, but they could easily replace Spinning Kong with a Blast Barrel move. If we can't have the item, we should at least have it as his recovery. Make it roll around automatically 360 degrees, be able to time your shots, is a strong kill move, is actually a decent recovery option, and you could even go crazy by having the ability to leave the barrel, and throw enemies into it so you could get some funny kills if you catch my drift 4. Seriously the opportunity was right there why isn't Dixie Kong and Funky Kong echoes c'mon Nintendo man how am I supposed to play this game without Dixie Kong and Funky Kong brah

For the 4th note, just play DKC: Tropical Freeze on the Switch. That has both Dixie and Funky as a playable character.

@@NintenRob The Smash wiki says the water of Jungle Japes could be inspired by Lakeside Limbo from DKC 3 while having the sunset of Cranky's Cabin. Kongo Falls could a combination of Jungle Hijinxs from DCK and Barrel Drop Bounce for DKC 3. As for the moveset, DK's headbutt is a reference to Super Duper Simian Slam from DK 64, where DK attacks with his head. Spinning Kong is based on Dixies helicopter spin. Next Diddy, the banana is a direct reference to Lanky Kong's battle with K Rool from DK 64, where the croc is trapped in a light and Lanky tricks K rool into slipping on a banana peel. Sakurai usually likes to keeps movesets simple to make it easier to balance characters. Some characters with really gimmicky movesets, have some big weakness like K Rool's Belly armor, crown, and huge amount of end lag in alot of his moves. Dk and Diddy may not be as flashy as K Rool, but their weakness aren't as egregious as K Rool.
