It's funny how they all said no they have never heard black men snickering or whispering about a black women and white men but not three seconds later turn around and say "well who hurt you" that's the exact same thing.

So is it safe to say "who hurt you" when black men are seen dating outside of their race. Why does a woman have to be "hurt" when she dates outside of the race, but a black man is just seeking "love" when he dates outside his race? Come on, be real fellas.

When it comes to black women who can't find a good black man, we must consider three things. 1) The fact that black women outnumber black men, therefore, there will be many single black women even if every black man in the USA married a black woman. Black men are a minority within a minority, so dating outside the race dramatically increases the romantic choices of black women as a minority in the country as a whole. 2) Players and men who don't treat women well will seek out and interact with a LOT more women because they are playing several women at once with the lie of love and commitment. If 99 out of 100 men a woman encounters (relatives, friends, romantic partners, coworkers, etc) are bad to and for women, any hope for that 100th guy is low. 3) Location is important. Good black men do not stay on the market long and are not always in supply in the areas where black women struggle to find a decent mate. Many good black men I have seen are usually married or in a committed relationship with someone they plan to marry. Good black men who struggle to find a good black woman also have the problem of location. Good black men and good black women are not always in the same locations to get the opportunity to meet. When there are not enough good black men, the struggle is real in places where the only option is to be alone, be with a nigga who you will only tear down in the process of trying to "upgrade him", or take a chance outside the race where any problems in a relationship are still universal.

Black women know all of this. They don't really care. They are used to going without, suffering, stigmas, degradation. I don't think they want a life without all of those things they are used to. They love having things to complain about.

It's not about what quality the BM are who don't like seeing it... Would you say the same for BW who share that feeling when seeing BM doing it.... The issue can simply be, you're willingness to "love" a people who did the most savage shit to your people. And before you say that person didn't specifically do it, they are part of a group of people who are STILL killing and oppressing our people. Do you know how many WP who claim to not be racist, say shit like "stop playing victim", "slavery been over", "get over it", "pull yourselves up by your bootstraps", "the natives didn't have actual borders so we weren't illegal when we came here" etc etc.... I have seen very few WP speak out against their own people for the shit they still say and feel... Absolutely no accountability or atonement... So no, its not the quality of the BM/BW that have them giving the side eye, its the knowing of history and current events that have them looking at those of us in such relationships as traitors sleeping with the enemy.... Can't say I blame them...

I appreciate these men giving their opinion based on their life experiences. I don't have to agree with everything they say but I respect their opinions enough to listen and gain some understanding on the male perspective. I am not a man so I can only gain understanding about societal pressures of what it means to be a man from MEN. Which means being quiet and listening sometimes whether I agree or not. From what I hear on this panel these men are wading through the same barrage of mass media messages as everyone else and trying to figure things out. Like we all are. What's the purpose of them sharing their opinions only to be called ignorant and such? For what it's worth 99% of my black female friends are married to loving black men. I have faith in black love and always will!

Honestly, actions speak louder than words. We can describe everything that we feel and try to solve every problem by thinking it through, but we have to actually change our values and choices. The main problem dating in the black community is not so much that the individuals are not quality people, but as a collective we value the wrong things in each other. I personally don’t have a problem with women dating up or men dating down. The problem is what many people consider to be an upgrade or downgrade. Our values are jacked up. We are valuable people who value the wrong things. Materialism, pressure to be this or that, extreme criticism are all things that has prevented blacks from collectively thriving mentally and in unity with each other. I honestly didn’t think these brothers hit on the points as well as they could have, but maybe the right questions weren’t asked.

The double standard. The double standards. Child please. Black men are more verbal about seeing a sister with a man of another race than black women are in the same situations. More specifically, a Caucasian man because that’s their biggest rivalry. I danced one night at a club with an older white gentleman. Mind you, it was an innocent dance; nothin extra like twerkin which most bros prefer. I had bros coming up to me talkin about ‘oh, you goin dance with the white guy then turned down a bro?’ Wow. Really na? I danced with multiple ppl the entire night and had a great time. I felt disappointed when my own bros said this to me because I danced with almost everyone who came up to me for a dance. Most guys were surprised at my openness to engage anyone as compared to majority of the gals at the club. I didn’t cared because I went there to have fun. I’d enjoy myself. Anyways, theres a major double standard around this topic of black women dating outside their race. Most black men would say they’re okay with it, when in reality, many are against the idea. Besides, how come it’s fine he can ask himself such questions whenever he sees a sister with someone of another race while the black woman cant or else she gets labeled ‘bitter,’ salty or drama queen. They even courageously assumes someone did her dirty, which explains her reasons for being with someone of a diff background. How nuts. Well, could be yah or neh, than again, why is it okay to assumed the worse about someone’s else’s love story? Besides, when did to become cool for them to think this way, however, problematic if sisters thought the same way about black men with white women? It’s such a double edge sword that I can’t anymore. I literally gave up on you guy because the double standard is real, mane

I wish women on these comments would stop speaking about all black men like they have met over 10,000 of them and the same goes for black men . Where the hell do y’all live at is my question and do you actually travel outside of your local city or metro city. Tired of hearing people speak on the whole population of black men and women like they personally meet thousands of couples . Damn y’all must not live in places where a lot of Black married couples live. It’s funny how people try to put their life experiences or surroundings on the entire African American race and call themselves knowledgeable of what we are all actually doing . Damn it’s getting annoying .

I don't feel like these brothers were speaking about the majority of educated, Black Women. When speaking about a good Black Man; it is not about physical characteristics. There is a very small number of women who are only looking for the "Taye Diggs"; its more about finding a black man on our educational and occupational level, that is humble and ready for a serious relationship. I am personally offended when someone tells me "maybe you should date a Black Man".

Hmmm so look at these strong & handsome men having deep conversation and sharing ideas with each other. But how come men when they are in relationship act like they can't talk or have fear of the "we need to talk" moments? To be honest for me a Black man who can communicate clearly about his feelings is worthy of my love than a man who can "give me the world" & be emotionally distanced. To be honest right of the start of this video, I didn't see anything anything except their blackness that was attractive to me but the minute they started to talking I was so drawn to them more & more. It's so beautiful when a man opens up. This should be encouraged but most importantly it should me expected.

After watching all of the "Ask a Black Man" episodes, I am convinced that Madame Noire's goal here is to have these men bash and perpetuate negative stereotypes about black women. Are you all owned by a white man? I am going to research that! The panel is often full of immature, insecure, misogynistic, childish grown boys. They aren't critical thinkers and their whole entire narrative usually is just based on looks and sex. There is often a lack of diverse opinions on the panel - meaning that they always seems to agree on the same basic premise that black women ain't shit and its all about the "draws," as one of your highly intelligent panelists to eloquently referred to sex. smh There was literally only one panel, I believed the discussion was marriage, where the men were mature and discussed the subject in an intelligent and respectable manner and did not bash black women. I really enjoyed that! Even some of the questions that YOU all pose are so inherently disrespectful to black women that it's almost as if you all set up the black women bashing situation. For example, "do black women not value black fathers?" Uhm excuse me?! Are you all referring to the high rates of single parenthood and absentee fathers in the black community? Because if so, then logically the question posed should have been, "do black men value fatherhood?" Considering the fact that it's the men who abandon the children the vast majority of the time and not the women! It is so disgusting and I am disappointing that you all have such a great platform to reach discuss relevant issues, yet you all consistently employ these immature black woman hating men to bash black women. You all need to stop casting these losers from craigslist and get out there and talk to some mature men who can have these conversations in a respectable manner without disrespecting black women and relegating women in general to just sex. Until then, I will not be watching anymore of these episodes or anything on this channel for that matter.

+misskingstonjamcutie "After watching all of the "Ask a Black Man" episodes, I am convinced that Madame Noire's goal here is to have these men bash and perpetuate negative stereotypes about black women." Thank you. Finally. I thought I was the only one that picked up on that. I picked up on this right away from the title of even just ONE of these videos from them because the topics covered in these Madamnoire vids with black men in them cover the same topics as the videos by the Black Women Bashers all over youtube. Are they using the term "Bedwench" in these "Ask A Black Man" videos? Are they talking about Weaves and fake hair? Are they talking about black women's degrees & Are black women getting married? If so, these are the exact same topics the bashers of black women make videos about all day long, but only these are sponsored by what is supposed to be a black woman's magazine. And I'm wondering exactly who the publisher or owner of Madamnoire is. I don't think it's a black woman. These videos ARE NOT in the best interests of black women. These videos seem to be in the interests of a type of Black Male Supremacy. I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees this.

Personally I don't think social status matters to black women it's more of security and that's women period. We're much more educated than ever before, which changes your perspectives and options a great deal. Professionally if you've reached a certain level or salary you're going to want your mate to either be where you are or have more. We live in a patriarchal society where we're constantly told man has to have more than woman. I think the whole interracial dating thing is a combination of things. A lot of industries for instance finance is male dominated and then more white men than black men. So if you work in a field where it's not many black men around then your social circle may reflect that so in turn your appeal for other races come into place if you're seeing more of jimmy and Jose than Tyrone then why wouldn't you date outside your race if that's what your options reflect. I'm pro black love and pro love it's just smarter to increase your options.

Britt T Exactly. I was watching a interview that Taraji P Henson did on hot 97 a couple of years ago, and she stated she's single because she haven't found a guy that's on her level financially. So many black men in the comments were saying things like"she's going to be single forever" "men date down all of the time" "she should support him because she makes more" etc. She doesn't have to compromise the man she wants for a man that's beneath her stature. Says who? I know i wouldn't lol. If a man isn't equally yoked with me in all areas, then we'll never work out.
@sillybrittbrat
@sillybrittbrat 8 жыл бұрын
+Kila W exactly! I love taraji and it just sucks all around of course in an ideal world no one wants to be single but if your not equally yoked in all areas then what are we doing. It's almost as if you gotta decide to settle in some respect or be single. I'm not sure where you are in the world but I'm in Atlanta so it's a lot of successful women here and they are single and then you have your women who are successful but settled for some bs and they're not fully happy so idk what the solution is honestly.
@kw7141
@kw7141 8 жыл бұрын
Britt T I'm in Michigan so its opposite for me lol. I don't think there's a solution honestly. I think that people should find someone they're compatible with and that's on their level. If you're working at burger king you shouldn't have an expectation of dating someone on wall street. That's not realistic to me. I also agree with what you've stated in your post about black women keeping their options open. I grew up in a predominately black community therefore, when i was younger (mostly in my teens) i had the notion of only dating black men. Now that I'm in my early twenties I'm more open to non black men. I know what type of relationship that i want and i haven't met a black man that was on the same accord. The good thing is that black women are becoming more open minded and marrying outside of their race.

The ignorance is way too real here! Come on now, even if you truly don't know many white or other races of people to where you have only met the stereotypes, I'm sure everyone knows of say Eminem, he even has a movie! So I think it's pretty well known that yes, people of different races can have similar backgrounds and interests as each other, and that's usually how couples meet, via their common interests. And then they're acting like all black women are from the same environment (& are the same)! Some black people grow up in the suburbs with mostly non black friends, since people are a product of their environment which includes friends, those black people will have plenty in common with their white neighborhood friends and classmates. Do these men live in a bubble? I'm going to need them to get some better educated panel members. Ugh.

bigjayking24 They did literally "they don't have anything in common...", one also admitted to generalizing black women (perms and rnb music). I'm not assuming at all, I'm commenting on what was actually said, rewatch around 11 minutes in. Point is, you can't apply your experience to everyone else, different races don't mean different interests all of the time even if the culture *might* be. For me and my friends, we have more in common with non black males because of our interests so hanging out with black guys would be far more boring and awkward with nothing much to talk about. Honestly I would never even want to date anyone who is not interested in my culture at all and I think that applies to many people who date inter-racially. If you like the person you will automatically want to learn more about them and what they like. And yeah if they don't then THAT person isn't for you but that doesn't mean that THAT race in general isn't for you.

Black men have never had the opportunity to date out of their race because of racism. Black men don't want to date someone trying to come up on them. But black men have been coming up on black women for 40 to 50 years. But it shows that media worked on the black man.

This was a great conversation. With regard to dating outside your race, I've dated white men for about 10 years now and not because I don't love black men, but because black men tell me I'm too much work. I do have expectations and standards for dating and any man would have to meet them. I believe when a big population of women have none, they don't want to work for something good. At the end of the day, I gotta love who loves me, values me, and wants to match my effort.

You don't see a celebrity woman with a regular man because they live two extremely different lifetsyles. Most of these regular guys are groupies, how do you as a woman trust that this regular man wants you for you. Not to mention they live in a completely different lifetsyle. They're not around regular guys they're around people in their own social class. They can relate more to a guy in their social class and they're more understanding of their jobs and it's demands. If I was a celebrity woman I'm not going out of my way to go to a middle class area to find a regular guy. I'm going to date someone that's in my environment which is most likely another socialite. To me he would be my regular guy. Not to mention these regular dudes are usually idiolozing these women from what they see on TV and when they don't live up to the image it's a problem. Additionally, celebrity women are making so much more than a regular dude which would cause some jealousy in a regular dude and he also can't give her what she's use to. In order for her to be with him she would have to downgrade her lifestyle or end up bieng the provider for the family and that doesn't sit too well with men. The man would have to be ok with moving to her home which would mean he would have to leave his job and find a new one where she is and that would be problematic. He wouldn't be able to see her often either which would cause issues. As a celebrity woman you also have to think about security. I can't live in a regular neighborhood as a celebrity. Living in a gated community and having security is just a more practical lifestyle. A celebrity woman and regular man just come from two different lifetsyles. It wouldn't work.

I'm trying to figure out where the ignorance is at? This is all logical and factual. I think the issue is that some people are taking offense to what is being said and because of that aren't listening to the whole debate as to why things are being said. Just relax and listen to their thought process prior to making a rebuttal. Your question could be answered if you would listen. Listen there are a plenty of us that desire to be with a sistah BUT preference deters us both. They are essentially discussing the possible deterrences. If they are lying then share some logical factual as to why we being deterred.

+Rui Paquete oh no no I understand that, and in honesty any sistah willing to listen would clearly recognize that this isn't ignorance. These brothers shared their hearts with grace, class, and intelligence with a dash colloquialisms. They made valid points. I've talked about with my students and some of young ladies responded the same way; but I had to explain the underlining issue. Personally it's being groomed for marriage. Most of us are still stuck on dating. How many of our black brothers and sisters are being groomed for marriage. You and I both know that means teamwork, but if we're constantly fighting against each other for power then who wants that. The crazy thing is that SOME sistahs will be what is supposed to be to our white American brothas, but when it comes to us SOME of us don't measure up. We aren't good enough. Vice Versa as well obviously. Have we been groomed? How many of live in homes with both parents doing the right thing to been an example to us.

+Rui Paquete The lack of seeing a black man loving a black woman and vice Versa the right way kills the little amount of hope we have in the legitimacy of a black family black AND self-love. Which explains why we have discussions like this. We can talk all day and learn of course, but what we really need as a whole is action from both parties period. All we are doing is pointing the finger and hating each to some capacity when in fact it's based on the lack of love we crave from each other but are afraid to both give out of fear of being disappointed in any shape form or fashion.

+Jarard Arnold I always say these conversations is the closes women will get to hearing how men talk amongst each other. The problem is women say they want to hear the truth, but they really don't want to heart the truth. In terms of how us men think.

+MadameNoire They so pro love but downplay relationships between BW and non BM. How it's a fascination, sexual or she been hurt. So what justifies BM with non BW? What do they have in common??? Ohhhh but in this sense, it's an adventure. They never heard of the fascination these non BW have with the BM's genitalia? Is that not sexual? BW date up to increase status?? Have they not looked at a lot of the successful BM who date non BW? Some these successful BM may be dating a regular chick but it's definitely not any regular blk chick they're choosing. I want a BM as my partner, and these videos make me feel like finding one is harder n harder. The reasoning is in the toilet with a lot of em. Dude with red hat gave an example of familiarity between the BM and BW. If it meant so much, BM (and him included) wouldn't be flocking to outsiders. And if he wasn't including himself in his example, then why bring it up? I wonder what are his reasons, because sound like he's been hurt himself.

Collectively men are not ready to admit it which I understand. Look what happen after women admitted they had an issue? Everyone laughed in our faces.

i have watched some of the other "ask a Black man" videos and i must say that these particular men sound very bitter and jaded. the men you had from nyc came off as more intelligent, sophisticated, cultured and well rounded. for them to spend so much time speaking of social media, and celebrities as if that is a reflection of the average person, tells me that they have very little personal experience with women in which to draw reference from. i think perhaps they may be a little socially awkward which can explain why they may have trouble with women and why their frame of reference is so limited. i am very disappointed in this group. i usually love to hear the perspectives of men from this series...but these gentlemen have a lot of growing to do before they can attempt to address these issues in a mature and objective fashion.

Now, I’m watching this and I simply had to turn the channel once the guy says “ is this sista with a different nationality because she couldn’t get a brother like his self? Then ,the other two guys laugh and said, who hurt you”? That’s truly how some black women feel about you guys dating outside the black race. Who hurt you???? I’ve often heard many black men celebrities talk about there up bringing, an example is ,Wesley Snipes. He too ,said, he doesn’t date black women because he’s been told he was ugly growing up by black women. Therefore, he only dates Asian women and white women. That’s crazy to me. The black mans insecurities, on why they truly date outside of there race. You were somehow devalued in your own race. FACTS!!!!!

It’s difficult to build a strong black community if black people chose outsider of their race instead of the community. Holding each other accountable to be our best for each other is the key. Helping each other. Exposing DL GUYS . If round 70% of black women Are single it’s not because they are not wonderful women, it’s because there’s an imbalance in available good, straight black men. Most black women always opted for amazing black men over anyone else. Get it together 😉help our brothas get it together.
