No. While they did get within 10 feet of a 65-foot cliff after they got off course in the jungle in the dark, Arthur never growled to stop them from going over the cliff. In real life, they were never aware they had gotten that close to a cliff. The team back home, including Mikael's wife Helena, saw it on their computer screens as they tracked them. I wouldn't call it a s@#! ending. If anything, it was a bittersweet ending but to me it showed how even animals are living on borrowed time and no living creature is meant to be on this earth forever. That is the reason we should cherish every moment before our time is up which is what Marley's family did with him up until the point he got sick and had to be euthanized.
