Testing in Phoenix, AZ in July is the best condition to test heat.

Oh my, we were camping, In AZ, May 30th, AC turned on at 9am and did Not turn Off till 7:30pm.. At 3pm, the temp outside was 99 degrees and the temp Inside.. was 87!!.. Hot..

We’re VERY interested in this blackout painted rig! I was very pleased to see this test, can we recreate the test with the same parameters plus one or two. The point(s) to add are the energy consumed by both units rigs and both AC units for the same timeline. If possible it would be nice to measure the duty cycles of the compressors. I would think that’s achievable with an inline oscilloscope. That would fill out the data points to make an informed decision.

Very interesting. Well produced. So.. did the ACs run non-stop or are they reaching temp and cycling Off/On? Camping last month, in AZ.. in a 27' Class A, the outside temp was 99 and the AC turned on at 9am and ran 100% till 7:30pm and at 3pm the Interior temp was 87!! Can not camp, for the most part, in AZ summer and that was late May. Right now the daily High is 120 so.. go to the mountains or forget it till October.

I'm curious what the outside temp on the midnight edition was during the day. Started with 120*F, but never went back to check that. I'm assuming it got much hotter and that would be concerning as it could cause severe burns.

I think the one variable you need to include is how long / how often the AC ran in each unit during the day. I would suspect that the AC in the dark unit ran much more frequently which would be fine in a campground with full hook ups but what if you’re off grid or on solar? The Black unit is truly beautiful and I can appreciate that you tried to conduct a fair test but there is definitely some missing data to present a truly full comparison

Exactly! Let's see the power consumption (watts used) and AC run time difference over identical models. A 30 degree difference on exterior wall is huge, of course the interior walls should be same temp because the AC is running.😂 Give the temp without the AC running. Black adsorbs heat and the AC will definitely run more compared to white. This was a dumb test, meant to sell black campers at a more premium price.

Thank you for your feedback! We will ensure this is further passed along.

I like the idea of the larger AC units. An extra 3000 BTUs would surely help.

Full paint should be an option on any rv over 26 feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you pulling more amps on the darker unit? What is the cost delta over time in the heat?

Good Afternoon, there is no set number. Everything is relative to the conditions you are camping in. Thank you.
