After listening to her talks only ,I realised that I was a real victim of many sexual abuses..I had this consent mentality for many years which was injected by the so called men..I’m still healing and I’m almost 60 years..I really appreciate and thankful to her openness.

Thank you to each one of you who offered kind words of support to me and my aunt. This video was difficult for both of us to shoot, but we wanted to reach out to others who have been in similar situations- children/men/women/LGBTQI individuals. We are overwhelmed by your response. "Thank you so much Lakshmi ma'am and Dr. Sujata for coming up with this video. It truly helped me confront and understand the traumas I’ve experienced, especially the abuse I went through as a child. It takes immense courage and strength to openly talk about these painful topics, and I deeply appreciate both of you for doing that. Dr. Sujata, your explanation and the way you educate society is invaluable, and Lakshmi ma'am, you continue to inspire and inform with such grace. The work you both do is incredible, and believe me, you're helping so many in the younger generation heal from their pasts. I was moved to tears during this video as it brought up some of my old memories, but it's a reminder that we must support each other to make this world a kinder place. Thank you again for this impactful video. 🙏"

This is so sad and shocking. All the women in my family all my life were so fearful of men in general and I was always asked to be careful. All these years , as a grown up, I thought it was unnecessary to instill fear at such early age. Now, this brave lady has made it so clear that this is the reality in India and it was always that. Thank you for telling your story. Can’t image the pain and trauma that you have gone through all these years. The fact that you have taken the path of healing and have come back to share your story is simply a huge gift to womanhood .

Really a touching story. Tough times don't last but, tough people do. In the beginning Dr. mentioned that she didn't feel comfortable with the man she met for the first time. And she felt sick or had an headache. This is when an innocent soul meets an evil soul. The spirit of discernment was within you and it enabled you to be guided in that manner by moving away from him. We all have spirit of discernment . We need to keep that as a guide. As an example: Have you ever felt weird or uncomfortable when you are at a place for the first time. You just feel this place is not for you and every atom or cell within your body is telling you to leave? This is the spirit of discernment. Its God given. You can lose if if you choose to ignore it.

None of this allegations complaints will hold against Sivachandran and Lakshmi. They are highly connected people both politically and socially in all of South India. Now we all know the real reason why Aishwarya and grandmother left her own mom’s house and stayed away from her life. Now we understand what Mohan Sharma the second husband said - Lakshmi only cares for her own happiness and pleasure nothing else in this world. So Lakshmi wants a husband and she was trying to hold on to that predator/flopped unemployed director by giving him whatever he wants. Made her own daughter escape from the house, and found another young girl to satisfy that sexual predator. So that is the story. Now we know why inspite of her being such a popular south indian actress why that monster did not have any work or nobody hired him as a director. It is unfortunate that this girl got stuck with them, which is again no fault of those predators I would say, but would blame Sowmya’s parents to let their daughter be abused by a predator.

It’s very easy to pin point fingers when the elders of the family do not provide a safe space for a child. My parents did that for me, hence I’m a BSc degree holder, 8years in the corporate world and married to a good man. Please think twice before typing comments like “creep” projecting another man’s image on a completely different man. Stick to the point. Sivachandan is not a good human being. Period. This is so heart wrenching! Sexual abuse happens in almost every household in India even to this day. Mothers need to teach their sons to respect women, that is priority; more than mothers teaching their daughters to cook, clean, and take care of the home. Of course Indian women today are a better lot in terms of education but when it comes to dealing with men, there's still a long long way to go.

I can’t imagine the pain and helplessness she went through at such a young age. But I feel proud that she had the courage and determination to overcome all that and deal with the trauma . The upbringing of Indian society especially towards female is damn toxic. We are expected to be quiet about everything and saying no is considered a sin . We are conditioned in a way to respect and fear elders even if they treat us like garbage . This leads to freezing of mind and unable to respond to any situation. The least I can do is not to encourage these type of conditioning to my younger generations.

What justice you are talking about? Where is the proof it all happened? What this Sowmya’s parents are idiots to send their daughter to a predator? This girl was 18, in college when this all happened. How can somebody molest, rape and have you as a sex slave for so long when you have parents and friends. Just wanted to say how stupid and idiotic that this young girl let it all happen for a year. I understand somebody making a pass, forcefully kiss and asking for sexual favors. It happens and will always happen, but being a sex slave?? Seems very extreme. Unless this girl was also drugged, made addicted to something and brainwashed to believe something else. That Aishwarya was a drug addict may be that Sivachandran introduced her to that…

This is so sad and heart wrenching to hear.....I think she is talking about Jodi Sendhachu a 1992 Tamil movie which was her debut movie. Her screen name was known as Sowmya. The movie can be found on KZbin. The director of the movie was actress Lakshmi and her 3rd husband Sivachandran (Married in 1987), who was a lead actor in that movie. The lady here Dr. Sujatha in her early years, did resemble actress Lakshmi's daughter, actress Aishwarya Baskaran. Actress Aishwarya Baskaran's first debut Tamil movie was called Nyayangal Jayikkattum in 1990, directed by Sivachandran and her mother actress Lakshmi played a lead role in the movie and she played her daughter. They fell out soon after the movie. As per Dr. Sujatha, when she met the couple in early 90's they already fell out with the daughter by then and Dr. Sujatha's movie with them was released in 1992. So, everything seems to fit into place here including the scenes in the movie Jodi Senthachu. So much to learn from her story.....

@@VanilAJ7813Thank you for highlighting this. Another striking information Dr. Sujatha gave was about the couple’s daughter. The media back then mentioned how similar both Aishwarya Baskaran and Dr. Sujatha looked like. Even the couple had mentioned that their daughter (the man’s step daughter) looks like her. Even I agree with that statement after watching the movie and the famous Ambalapuzha song. I almost thought it was the actress Aishwarya. They looked so much alike in their younger days. Also, the timelines match too. Dr.Sujatha mentioned that the couple’s daughter was already an actress and acted in a few movies already, when she met them, which is true for Aishwarya. Cause by the time she acted in her Tamil debut film directed by her step dad Sivachandran and acted along with her mother Lakshmi, she had done 4 films in Malayalam , Telugu and Kannada. Also Sivachandran is in his 70’s now. I can only imagine after so many years, finally Aishwarya Baskaran would feel vindicated now to hear this story since very few believed her then, including her own mother. Whatever transpired in her life then must have been due to this trauma and the lack of support system. Justice does takes its own time and course. I also can't help to think that Dr. Sujatha could have been preyed by Sivachandran in the pretense of casting her just because she looks like Aishwarya Baskaran. Whetever he couldn't achieve with Aishwarya, he took it out and perhaps even sought his revenge for Aiswarya through Dr. Sujatha since she looks like her... It's so twisted the more you think about it.

It's also uncanny how the only movie Dr. Sujatha (Jodi Sendhachu) and Aishwarya Baskaran (Nyayangal Jayikkattum) acted and directed by actress Lakshmi and her husband Sivachandran had weird titles.... It's as if the Universe was delivering a message back then to the masses about whats happening and whats to come. I hope that justice prevails in both cases and the ones we have not heard about just like the movie title Nyayangal Jayikkattum.

The culprits have to face the music at some point of time and nothing is more painful than to watch whatever you earned or established get destroyed at your late end of life when you are too weak or too late to defend it. If I keep going there will a lot more…but I appreciate Dr.Soumya to finally come out with her traumatic experience which gave me goose bumps and shivers and made me cry as could visualize it and I can understand the feeling of being trapped and not being able to escape inspite of the warnings that come from deep within..my prayers are with you and with so many who is going through with the same situation… It’s TIME WE VOICE UP… it’s TIME WE REACT..

Thank you Lakshmi and Sujata. The naivete that we create for children and adults through our cinema, patriarchy and silence we maintain on gender, sexual and economic violence is also a big reason why and how people either young or older, get trapped and exploited by monsters in any of these or other asocial behaviour. Things are seemingly improving, but that again is a veneer; we have so much more to become social animals beyond what we think we are. Sujata, there's some batchmates of yours from college who are happy you've come out of that really unfortunate state, and wonderful how thats leading you ro help both prevent such for others, and also those who need help to get out of such situations.
