Unfortunately, I haven’t found a professional that I trust to trim my hair.
@TransformedbyOАй бұрын
Just curious, how do you typically search for a hair stylist? I usually recommend word-of-mouth. If no one you know has recommendations, then doing a search on Instagram or TikTok using hashtags like #chicagonaturalhair or #naturalhairnewyork should bring up many options(also Google is also great). Take your time to study the person‘s work, which includes Google reviews, comments, observe the way they speak on social media and on their website, is it kind and welcoming, or does it feel harsh and repulsive? Your best bet is to book a consultation, have all your questions and concerns ready. This will help you weed through the nonsense and hopefully land you on the best stylist for you. Hope this helps!

You can learn to trim your own hair. There are videos that show you how to do this on KZbin.
@TransformedbyOАй бұрын
@@May-ly5ft The great thing about KZbin is that you can learn anything and DIY, but as a professional stylist, I have seen clients go this route without much success. I'd say if you are comfortable and confident in your skill, and you have the right tools, then it may be worth it to diy, but overall, I do not recommend it.

I’m not gonna lie, I do not trim my hair often And I refuse to set foot in the salon. My hair is extremely long but I know I have split ends, but it is what it is. I trimmed maybe twice a year.
@TransformedbyOАй бұрын
It sounds like you have a good rhythm that works for you! For people who prefer DIY, I just strongly suggest using sharp hair shears
@tashajones3661Ай бұрын
Me too I'm tired of trimming my hair for blunt ends when my hair grows uneven just to do it all over again. Now I enjoy my natural hair fall next time I trim next year it will be according to length not for a blunt even look.
@TheAymoneShowАй бұрын
@tashajones3661you do realize you can simply ask the stylist to record a video of your hair once blown out or pressed. Then she can show you where and how she wants to cut. There is no reason to be paranoid! Communicate with the stylist. There are too many amazing hair stylists today for you to not take care of business. You’re hurting yourself more.
@TheAymoneShowАй бұрын
Why do you “refuse” to set foot into a salon? If you commit to looking for a great stylist, you can find one and have a great experience. Many stylists today take videos and will ask you: how much you want to cut? Now sometimes it’s truly necessary to cut because the split ends have traveled all the way up the hair shaft. It has to be cut. But hair is always growing.

You are telling the truth sis. I have been having this problem. I can’t remember the last time I had a trim😬. But I repent and I will do better😊

I had a trim about two weeks ago and still got that. My hairdressers in this area don't trim or do split end search.

Alot of that is from lack of moisture/dryness and her hair isn't getting AIR. We need air daily. Our hair needs AIR daily. If wearing wigs the Minute You come home the wig should be OFF. Massages should be 2-3x a week. Hot oil Treatments change EVERYTHING,Black /textured hair NEEDS moisture also VITAMINS. Trims go without saying at least 3-4x a year❤. She can watch videos from professionals on trimming, get good shears for $4-10...or ask a Barber and TELL him where you want it cut. They have went to school also. My cousins husband is a barber, I would go to him every now and then at his shop and he was EXCELLENT @trimming !!❤ She is giving good tips too!

My hair might have been dry but gets lots of air daily. I don't wear wigs at all and have never worn one or any addition/extension. It still gets like this often although it grows and sometimes have no split ends.

I just did a semi big chop. I cut my hair to a tapered bob, from brastrap lengtht since im teying to go natural. I realised the excuse of not going natural cause i have daughters with long hair hurts me. I need to learn to deal with my hair naturally. I say that to say the following. When i didnt tim my eldest daughters ends before they would turn like the person in the video. We now no longer have that problem. You give great advice.

If you don’t know how to trim your ends. Mini twists help me. It’s a cute style but i mostly do them (and wear them after for a couple days) when I need to trim. It helps with shaping too. I get so confused with all the angles etc. and I don’t wear my natural hair straight or use heat.
@mokahgirl5165Ай бұрын
Definitely been there (several times) and done that. My hair gets super tangled. I moved away from my hairdresser and haven't been able to get back to him in a year. Don't trust anyone else to do my hair. Idk if you are willing but if you could give us the deets on that wig...🙏🏽. Love the color and style. Even when I was getting my hair done id still wear wigs sometimes so I would wear it all especially if i wanted color and didn't wanna color my own hair. Anyway, hope you'll do a wig tutorial for ppl in between appointments. 🤷🏾♀️

That used to happen a lot. Not so much anymore. Using aloe vera on my hair post shower , and rinsing my hair pre-shower with rice water/ACV/aloe vera has been a big help. Also some of these Indian oils like vatika oil and amla oil are great after shampoo detanglers.
@gwendolynperry7884Ай бұрын
Hair Salon prices are really too high. What they are charging in most cases for certain styles doesn't last.
@a.mariedixon-jenkinsАй бұрын
Excellent information! I have learned that I have to detangle my hair before shampooing, if not it is a tangled mess. I have incorporated deep conditioning each time I shampoo, which is every 7 to 10 days. If i go any longer than 10 days my hair is extremely dry and tangled and can get matted. When I was in the market for a deep conditioner I was going to try Cecred. Being one who has skin allergies I have to read the ingredient list of products. I found that Cecred has 2 allergens in it, wool and wheat protein. I was very disappointed because I really wanted to try it. Again love the professional advice.

I don’t know your hair so I can’t give a straight forward answer, but I will say some people have found benefit in doing this, especially when they have low porosity hair

@@PrettyDiimples I was skeptical at first but I gave it a try for a month and found that my low porosity type 4 hair loved it. It was easier to manage and stayed hydrated. I wore styles during the week that required little manipulation.
