I would not have thought those purples and blue (aqua?) would look so lovely together. Wow! Simply stunning. It's a combo I'm gonna remember when using my stash....
@TheGuyWhoSews22 күн бұрын
I dont know I would have thought about this combo either but it looks amazing. There was a similar quilt in a very different colour scheme that I'll show in a few weeks. It will be fun to show how colour makes a big difference.

G'day Brenda. I hope you make it out there sometime. I may be brave enough to give one of these patterns a try after Toasty.

Love Christies quilt. I wish my dinner plate looked like this. It reminds me of a Quiltworx. I would love to do a Quiltworx pattern.

Intriguing, what is a Quiltworx ?
@TheGuyWhoSews18 күн бұрын
@melanietannertaylor0401 I believe it is the quilt pattern company that produces the Judy Neimeyer patterns :)

G'day Landa. I think this is a Quiltworx pattern but could be wrong.

That takes talent! The pattern reminds me of a Spirograph pattern. The colors are outstanding.

I am more partial to darker earth tones. This quilt begs for lighter and brighter colors so honestly don't know. Thanks for spot lighting this amazing quilt.
@TheGuyWhoSews22 күн бұрын
G'day Shanna. I agree this begs for the lighter and brighter colours. I'm glad you brought up the darker earth tones as I do gravitate towards bright and bold and tend to show more of those. It would be fun to showcase a quilt with darker earth tones. I'll look through my photos (I have many) and see what I can find to showcase in the next week or two :)

Hi Sean!! This quilt is a stunner!! Gorgeous quilting and colors! I think the black and white checkers are what really make this Quilt pop! if you keep looking at it that’s what stands out to make the colors look so fantastic!! I bought a Judy Niedermeyer pattern and mine is still in the packaging too lol it looks really tough! But I will do it sooner or later
@TheGuyWhoSews19 күн бұрын
G'day Marie! I thought it was a stunner too. Yes the black and white checkers really make a big difference on this. My JN pattern is still in its packaging. Hopefully I'll be brave enough to give it a go once Im done with Toasty.

I love JN quilts! They’re always stunning! I have a kit, but haven’t started it yet. It’ll definitely be awhile… I hope you enjoy yours, it would be beautiful in tonal blue, green, and purple batiks.
@TheGuyWhoSews22 күн бұрын
G'day Charlotte. I hadnt thought about colours yet but I love the Blue, Green and Purple batik ideas. It will likely be a 2025 project at the earliest. A lot will depend on how much I enjoy assembling Toasty.

Wow! Would love to do a JN one day, but at $900+ thanks to the wonderful Australia Tax I may just keep admiring them.
@TheGuyWhoSews22 күн бұрын
i bought the pattern only a while back which was about $60 AUD. I plan on using my own fabric to keep the cost down. Wonder if that could be an option for you
@chloemorgan756022 күн бұрын
Just, wow! Amazing work. I love the color scheme. I have not heard of beaded quilting before. I would love to make a JN pattern in the future, but I need more practice with FPP. I just purchased the pattern for a fun mystery FPP quilt along by Apples and Beavers called the Cozy Holiday QAL. I am excited and I plan to use mostly solids with some prints sprinkled in.
@TheGuyWhoSews18 күн бұрын
G'day Chloe! The colour scheme is amazing on this. I saw a similar quilt at this show in a very different colour palette which I thought was really neat too. I'll show case that one in a few weeks. I'm with you and feel i need to be more confident with FPP before trying the JN quilt. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your Apples and Beavers project when you are done.
