The comparison is definitely terrible. I will say this though I have the pedal myself and I’ve used it on better than 35 or 40 gigs it has not failed me or disappointed me in anyway it’s performance has been outstandingly. Incredible to tell you the truth I invested in the hundred watt, super sheriff, and have use this pedal more than the hand wired amp, just easier throw it in a bag and go with the 212 Friedman cab and you’re on the run man it’s fantastic go 16 homes you can go ahead room to Bedroom because you have master volumes over everything. The tone automatically adjusts I mean it’s fucking incredible. 11:10 11:12

This guy is my favourite guitar player. Its insane how he makes the guitar sing. The phrasing , the vibratos, the tones, the bends, the whammy use, everything is integrated into a super thrilling musical experience. And he does so with a simplistic style, so that you think its easy to just grab your guitar and play like that and have fun. Too bad you end up sounding like your fingers have depression.

I personally am becoming one of those guys with a pedalboard the size of an aircraft carrier and these V4 amps are a LIFE SAVER! For those who don’t know Victory offers the powered V4 that’s basically a full fledge amp and then the V4 preamps that you can set up to “slave” an amp. You can combine these and admittedly it’s a little janky but if you ask victory they’ll say you can set up up so you have 3 V4 amps on one board WITH an effects loop (1 powered amp, 2 preamps that slave the main powered amp). These are huge but honestly for me having every single effect I could ever want with 6 amp channels that are tube based is AMAZING and I would recommend doing this to ANYONE if you can afford it and deal with the mental gymnastics you’ll need to do to set it up LMAO!
@sbenson76 Жыл бұрын
Hi Matthew! Are you saying you can buy one of the Sheriff V4 amp pedals and then daisy chain to the Sheriff one of the cheaper PREAMP pedals like the Duchess and Cooper? This is so that you don't have to buy the V4 Duchess and V4 Cooper? You wrote: "if you ask victory they’ll say you can set up up so you have 3 V4 amps on one board" Do you mean you can have one V4 amp and 2 of the preamps pedals?
@matthewbehrle4428 Жыл бұрын
@@sbenson76 Hey man, I said you can run 3 amps V4 amps on the board because as I understood it at the time the whole line was called V4. What I was referring to was having one of the big V4 pedal sized amps and 2 V4 preamps. This was originally my plan because as I saw it the Victory Duchess, Kraken, and Sherif would cover everything that I wanted to do musically but this changed and now I’m running a Quad Cortex rig. But I still think the V4 rig could work out really well if that’s the thing you’re looking for with the built in Two Notes tech and just general variety in tone, although it’ll work out to be just as expensive as a Quad Cortex or helix so buyer beware.

Great review Pete. I had The Copper V4 Preamp and it was fantastic but the only let down was the 'Shared EQ' so I had to put little dot stickers on the dials as markers for the two different channels, not great for Live, switching I had to bend down then tweak and can't really do that during a song so it's kinda useless unless your happy with a setting on the clean that works with the Drive, in my case it didn't. Keep rocking Pete.

I formally (70s) would take a (vintage 70s) mxr 10 band graphic eq and use it to hit the front end of my (vintage mid 70s) 50 watt Marshall and it was the sound to die for. I would push up the mids and round off the high and low. It functioned as a tunable overdrive. I would get lots of od sounds folks pay much more for now.

I had the preamp version of this and had to send it back FWIW. The selling point for that was its routing options into the front of the amp and the FX loop was a good idea but did not work at all well in practice for the gear that I owned (various UK made, hand wired amps as well as testing it out on a couple of DV Marks which were modelling/solid state/tube preamp affairs. The biggest problems I had were the differences between the two channels and the fact that the pedal was unable to drive the FX loop properly with what I had. To be fair to the manufacturers, they acknowledge this but it seemed a bit odd to me. This configuration makes more sense. Anyone wanting to try out the preamp version will definitely have to give it a few days testing out with their own kit.

Sounds like you already had your bases covered with hand-wired UK amps and solid state modelers?
@stevealdridge69112 жыл бұрын
@@asnark7115 In my case, that's how it turned out but like a lot of people, I keep trying various bits of kit to see if I get a better result. Most of the time, I test out second hand stuff that can be sold for what I bought it for so no real problem. The Multiamp is something that's run its course for me. Portability was its attraction but I ended up going back to the valve amps but then, back comes the heavy lifting.
