Stabilizers are not isolated galvanically, mostly they use tapping on the primary winding itself it is like an auto transformer. And high voltage capability of the smps is determined by the capacitors in the smps input, most of our products can withstand 300V.

You are right i too feel that there is no need for a stabiliser for modern day tvs. But some areas due to transformer neutral issues there is a chance for a SMPS failure due to bursting of MOVs and may damage nearby components. So i suggest to buy a reputed high quality spike suppressor and install before power supply

@@dealsaholic problem here is that the smps designed from 100v to 270 or 240v. In any case voltage will not go below 100v. But main failure with smps is spikes. So even rural areas spike suppressor extension boards are more than enough.

For the present flat panel TVs do not require stabilizer. Most of the stabilizers ( + ) or ( - ) 8 volts.Therefore it is just an added item. Sellers make profit here by selling additional gadgets. Further most of the TVs has external adapter. (SMPS)) Only low DC voltage is connected to TV panel. Around 20 Volts through an external wire with a suitable pin. Voltage Depends on TV design.

Very useful information, the main purpose of stabiliser is it will switch on after few seconds of power resumed.most of the equipments failed when the power resumed after power cut.too much surge will come,stabiliser will be on after few seconds.i am not sure stabiliser will filter the surge or pass the surge.kindly clarify.

Yup..Stabilizer is a protection device...if some bad suituation the HV strikes happens then the Stabilizer protect your tv and go for other new Stabilizer..if there is no Stabilizer then you need to give tv to service center may you need to change whole smps ckt that might be duplicate...so using stablizer is Good...we are using RCCB MCB ELCB all just for protection...so be protected is good..even though there is primary protection, Secondary protection is suggested to avoid some problems

In built regulation capacity of an smps is ment to handle (varying) voltage requirement of tv set. Every domestic equipment is made to work on 220v ac in India. If at certain times your input voltage goes up or down, smps will protect it. But YOUR SMPS CANNOT work on a continuously under or over voltage. So please use stabilizer if you are gonna operate your TV on a continuously over-volt input.

There is a possibility of getting 440 watts from EB supply at which point a good stabilizer will cut off and protect the devices behind it. Devices without this protection will fry. So compulsory stabilizer needed for AC/Fridge/TV. Not just any but ones which really have a display showing input and output voltage regulated and full copper coil stabilizer. Alternatively, connect things like TV to UPS which will have a transformer inside it so separate investment not needed.

Bro 2mistake in your video. Stabilizer doesn't provide any galvanic isolation as it is using single winding auto transformer. Second the stabilizer can do more harm than good due to transient surge current during relay switching.

Bro in developed countries there is no stablizer at all... In developing countries and under developing countries only this stablizer is marketed by top Brand also. If EB company is properly in strong distribution system(RMU with 150% future load requirements means...) No need of stablizer for Home appliance.

No, the stabilizer will take a small time (sec) to average the input voltage which is very high (milli secs) for spikes.

50 or 60 Hz is the number of cycles in our AC power supply. In India we use 220 V, 50 Hz but in North America they use 120 V, 60 Hz. Here 50/60 Hz means this device supports both the frequencies between the mentioned voltage. The short answer is it supports both frequency power supply from 100 V to 240 V of fluctuations.

Theoretically it is OK. Practically, my sony bravia 32" led 3d tv gone for a six, INSPITE OF INVERTER. It depends on your area current and volt factor. NOW I AM 1001% SAFE AFTER ROUTING ALL MY ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENTS VIA A GOOD STABILIZER. BE PRACTICAL.

Please refer my comment. Even if you use a stabliser there is a chance for a tv smps failure due to neutral loose connection on the EB side transformer. So the domestic voltage may reach beyond 300v where as the MOV used is rated for 270v. Suppose the if the voltage is beyond the tv operating voltage the MOV will clamp the voltage up to 270 and there would not be any damage to the Power supply and onl fuse may blow but if the voltage reaches a above 270v then the MOV will burst due to which the pcb and nearby components will get damaged. To avoid this consequences i suggest to use a fused surge suppressor before any costly electronic gadgets . This spike suppressor also fail due to the above reason but the repairing charges will be very less when compared to the gadgets.
