In case of postdoc, how does a university ranking matter, say one side, one person working in the top 10 University. Otherside, one doing good work in a university ranking between 100-200. What is your opinion.

Hello sir. What if a candidate has a less percentage in his masters but has few publication during his PhD? Does it still affect his career even if the university ranking is low ?

The current performance is always given more weightage. Marks and grades become less important as time goes by. Also remember that it is impossible to compare marks given by different colleges or universities as the professors grade differently and the students may also avoid taking tough courses with tough professors to improve their grades. This makes their fundamentals weak even if they have good grades.
