Does visionOS 2 Make Vision Pro WORTH It?!

I purchased my AVP about a week after the release. I use this exclusively for watching movies on planes. The experience is amazing. I take it with me whenever i travel just for movies, wow. There is nothing like it. It is actually the best movie watching experience I’ve had and makes those long plane flights very comfortable.

I think what's so awesome is the fact that the meta headsets and apple headsets feed off each other. Each company takes the best things for the others designs and incorporates it into their own devices. This is good for the industry as a whole.

I hope when using my Vision Pro as a monitor for my mac, I can finally get the audio to play through the vision pro. Havent tried it lately, but it wasnt great having the audio still playing from the mac. Maybe there was a mistake on my end though, an option or setting I missed.

Do they even provide 14 days return policy the second time? I'm not bashing Vision Pro since I already tried VR headsets and they are the best and pretty sure Vision Pro is great hardware but it got very long way to go with softwares and support

@@toututu2993 if there is a new OS that provides new features and you want to fully try those out to see if it is worth keeping, I wouldn’t see why they wouldn’t. After a while though, they might inform you that you are starting to abuse their return policy if you keep buying and trying it every month or so 😂

Personally, I watch a lot of video on my AVP. For that, I always watch on the moon at night which gives me good contrast...it's like a drive-in theater on the moon...suspended above a big crater. I use the AVP daily but will continue to feel cheated and betrayed until it includes Home Sharing sos that I have access to my 20 years of media...both audio and video.

I still wish they'd release the App Store in way more countries that already support the AppStores for iOS and macOS. idk what goes into releasing the device in some countries each year but people should be able to import these devices and be able to use em to their upmost potential. I for once got one from the US and have been jumping through hoops te get apps and features going.

Sorry, sometimes comments get buried but I'll try to remember to follow up here. You're saying that when you go full screen, your desktop shifts to the left? If that's the case, it's because it's creating what's called a "space." You can have multiple desktop spaces and multiple full screen apps and then jump between them. If you don't want it to do that, what you can do is just resize the window manually to fill the screen. That way it isn't "technically" running as a full screen space but instead is just filling up the visible space. Drag it to the top left corner of your desktop and then drag the lower right corner to the bottom and it will just fill the screen up without going to a new space. Hope that helps?!

- I can imagine air traffic controllers and the military will find the Apple Vision Pro useful to show many screens simultaneously that are 150-400 inches each...that's a lot of information. - Current F16 figher helmets are $400k each with just a HUD, whereas the AVP could be incorporated into a helmet for far less than $400k. - Infantry soldiers wearing a helmet with the AVP. - AVP's passthrough is 120 degrees which allow real world interaction with the firearm, target, throwing/catching. - I want to get the Apple Vision Pro, it's not that expensive compared to a great home theater, and people don't realize that it's got eye tracking (no mouse cursor), an 8k screen, many many 300 in screens, 3D camera, spatial audio speakers, creates an Imax or the biggest commercial theater screen size even when you're sitting in a tight coach airline seat. - the eye tracking (replaced a cursor) us a game changer. - way easier to develop than Facebook Quest. - AVP is not constrained to a box game model like the Quest, instead the AVP world model is infinite. - air traffic controllers can see the perspective of a commercial plane pilot landing. - The AVP's many many virtual 150in-300in screens can replace a commercial airline cockpit's many physical screens, and that physical space can hold more important physical equipments.

Quest 2 and 3 have this feature now (glancing at your forefinger and thumb), but the picture's grainy - the only thing stopping me from buying the Vision Pro are the prescription lenses. If Apple sorts that out (and makes the price competitive by say a 33% price cut), the damn thing will fly off the shelves like Playstation 5 during COVID. --

I was impressed with the demo. But this is a silo’d experience without the ability to share those experience with other people without violating your own perinatal sense of ownership on such an aspirational piece of tech. Expensive MacBooks while seemingly pricey, at least can be used to connect to monitors and for genuine productivity tasks for the user to share his work with others. Visio pro eliminates a lot of the chest pounding bragging rights of being a user,

Yes, I think the actual quality in virtual backgrounds puts it at a higher price point and such, but they should at least make a more affordable version? Vision Lite? It is superior in many ways with eye tracking and coordination in comparison to other headsets.

Still no KILLER MUST HAVE use case for the Vision Pro. It would be great for some must have 3 D Immersive Fantasy RPG like Diablo where you would actually be in the game not watching from above. They missed a huge opportunity with the OS. They made it 2D. This is a 3D immersive device, and the icons, folders, control panel etc are all 2D flat representations. Until they actaully make a immersive world this is just a 2D device emulating 3D.

I'm sorry man, but when it comes to the AVP you're the king of putting a wig on a pig. I honestly believe that this will go down as Apple's biggest flop. So expensive that not enough people can afford it... Which means app developers aren't motivated. If you remove content consumption, what else can the average person use it for? Work? Oh wait, that means that you have to pony up for a MacBook if you don't already have. Every month when I pull mine out to try and change how I feel about it, all I end up thinking about is what I could have spent 4 grand on instead. I waited with bated breath, hoping that something, anything would be announced at the recent event..... They didn't even mention AVP. I wish YT reviewers were a little more pragmatic in creating their content. At the end of the day though , I guess that is just my opinion and you have yours.

Depends on your perspective I guess. Meta alone sold more than 20 million Quest 2 units before the 3 launched. Apple made this model basically for developers and early adopters, not really the mass market. Despite that, and its massive price tag, Apple sold roughly a quarter million preorders for this back in January. Let alone what it's moved since then and it's about to be available in like a dozen more countries. In preorders alone, Apple brought in about a billion dollars. That's absolutely nuts. You may think it's rubbish -- it's not for everyone! But a lot of people, me included, love it. I cannot wait for more people to pick them up to start using some of the shareplay experiences.

@@toututu2993 I initially had the Quest 2 and then upgraded to the Quest 3, which I'm happy to pay for as long as it's under $1,000. However, regarding the Apple Vision, I don't think it's worth paying more than $3,000 for something that will primarily be used for gaming and watching videos unless it can generate income. Despite its advanced technology, it still needs some improvements, particularly the battery cable that hangs from the VR headset to the pocket.

In the current state it's just a developer toolkit to make apps, this is why they released the more expensive one first (they can't give a tool to devs and say that, now you can test half of the features..), and also this is why they are announced on the developer conference, not on any event for the regular users.. when you will see a Vision Air or something more affordable on an iPhone/Mac event, that is the model what you should buy (because that time the app store won't be empty, i mean there will be a reasonable amount of apps what directly made for the headset, not just converted iPad apps)

Top of my wishlist would be an alternative selection gesture - an alternative to the thumb-index-finger pinch. Not suggesting that the pinch is difficult to do, but exactly the opposite: It’s too easy to do unintentionally/unknowingly do! I’ve seen a lot of cases where I’m trying like crazy to select something, and it just won’t select. Why? Because, unbeknownst to me, my _other hand_ has fallen into my lap with my forefinger touching my thumb! Yes, I know we can limit pinches to one hand, but if you do so, you can no longer size things with a two-handed pinch. Plus, I still sometimes inadvertently pinch with the one hand. An alternative gesture thumb-to-second finger would be very helpful.
