I can remember the exact moment the visual snow started... I was laying in bed with insomnia, trying my very best to sleep when suddenly all these little pin pricks of light washed over my vision, as if I was looking into a starry night sky. I opened my eyes in suprise and was shocked to see the effect overlayed, over the room around me too. It really freaked me out. I have also had issues with seeing little blue orbs and flashes of light, and shaky vision too. All of this is almost completely gone now though and I'm so grateful to be on the right track now, thanks to Miguel and CFS Recovery! ❤🎉

your lucky you found out what you had early. i got it in the 80s when no one knew about it or what it was. everyday i just toughed it out and prayed and it was about 14 years before i found out that it was visual snow and it was nothing to worry about. The first years i was full blown VS and then it gradually went away, i still have it after 30 years, but its negligible.

My symptoms started 5 years ago when I was lying on the couch. I was going through emotional stress and I remember not feeling good. Then out of no where I felt dizzy and I started seeing these stars and flickering light. I was filled with immediate panic and confusion. I had many sleepless nights and times where I couldn’t even focus my eyes on digital screens. 2 months later chronic tinnitus joined making matters worse. 5 Years later I’ve been able to function properly and live with it and even be able to focus well. I just hope there will be a cure for it and for tinnitus. It’s a blessing to hear normally and see correctly.

I didn't know it was CFS related! I started having flotters a bit before getting sick but my ophtalmologies said it was normal. And then, I got dots from POTS dizziness (this one got better with medication). It's really difficult to read in intense light and I can't look at the sky anymore (too much fuzz because of how light and vast it is) which is the worst. But I'm also autistic and I've always had migraines, so my vision is already hypersensitive... It always felt like I could "see" the air 😅 At the very least, I would like to be able to look at a clear sky again without it being painful

I think mine appeared almost 20 years ago as a young teen. I noticed it got worse after some shots recently, perhaps a virus or shot was the original trigger back during teenage years. I suspect there's a genetic predisposition paired with trigger events that cause this chemical change in the brain that impacts how our brains interpret and process the visual world around us.

For me it's not away yet, but it's getting better. Got a new job where I have to work harder and smarter. Sleep meditation helps for me to get good rest, breathing slower and understanding my body on how to relax all muscles especially those in my face. Also my thoughts are calmer, thoughts aren't always on anymore. Before I just kinda passed out and I thought it was sleeping. I feel so much more confident too in social interaction. I take more time to enjoy the food I eat and I feel I've had enough sooner, before I just ate fast and till I felt full and could only appreciate strong tastes and fats. I'm now rediscovering tastes of healthier food. It's weird how this is all connected. I'm still an addict to tobacco, and quitting that isn't the right time now. But I agreed with myself I must smoke slower, used to smoke quick and red hot and it feels like that damages my taste system the most, by burning. Now when I feel a bit stressed and feel the need to smoke, I either need to take time to relax or I take a nicotine mintspray. My dopamine, serotonine and endorfine system is also changing I noticed. I've expierenced psychosis in the past and have to admit I'm fitting the criteria now and then lately, but this time I'm having help because i'm open and honest to the people around me. I'm starting to have feelings like love and joy again, but also have to redirect anger now and then. I feel more human now, but it's sometimes a little bit of a challenge to have balance in work and relaxation. Sometimes I'm so sharp in my senses that's it kinda creepy, because I have been away from my senses for the biggest part of my life. Thanks for making these video's cfs!

Lol, man - if your “visual snow” ended - it was definitely not a visual snow. Currently it’s incurable. I have VS for 23 years since my first migraine with aura and I’ve tried all kinds of medications: antidepressants, anticonvulsants, cognitive behavioral therapy, physiotherapy - none of that worked. It’s a 24/7 hell for almost my entire life. And there is not a single medically documented case of full recovery from VS. I’m exploring this problem for years with doctors.

Mine started after too much weed along with a viral infection. I remember the exact moment it started. I was smoking up and got a whiteout but instead of my vision going white it just turned black. With my eyes open. When my vision returned I had these grainy vision and if I relax my eyes I would see 'psychedelic patterns' on matt surfaces like the walls and ceiling. Its been 13 years now, I have stopped smoking weed for years but didnt change anything. In many ways I am still feeling high. The only time it has ever stopped was one time when I was tripping on shrooms. Vision perfect. I still got full score on the vision test when renewing my drivers license. I am not sure it will go away for most people and I find this video a bit misleading because it is just a subjective experience. The objective research says it likely wont go away.

So far only one documented case of treatment and remission but it's highly unlikely to resolve on its own, unless it's from birth and the brain habituated to it or it's from situational causes like panic attacks or drug overdoses. So far I've had mine for years after being put on Lexapro and it hasn't gone anywhere or reduced at all. Tried holistic medicine, acupuncture, chiropractors, PT, every lab test and imaging test, 3 eye doc and 4 neurologists, 6 medications, yoga, running, jiu jitsu. It's safe to say if it was meant to heal it would have healed by now. If it just goes away for someone it's probably not meeting diagnostic criteria for visual snow.

Visual snow in general doesn't ever go away. There's a lot of literature finally starting to be published on thr syndrome. Many people who have it have no known reason for it, and often have perfectly normal eye exams. It's thought its to do with the parts of the brain that process our vision. Some people have always had it and don't knoe why. Some claim it came on after a virus, vaccine, stressful event or injury. There's a spectrum of severity, and it can get worse after a new trigger. There's not yet any known cure in mainstream medicine, or consistently proven treatment, but it can have severe quality of life and consequential mental health impacts, so I hope an effective therapy exists before too long. There seems to be a mild family link to it too, so its possible we inherit a predisposition and something triggers that predisposition.

Sometimes we need to reframe our thinking, knowing that an issue may not go away can feel scary but there is something freeing about accepting it and if it does happen to go away, yay a bonus. It may not be the news you wanted but accepting it as a part of your life can actually help to reduce symptoms and help your brain to not focus on it. Definitely try new things that may help and it's ok to feel sad and stressed about it. Great question! The more we can incorporate relaxation and mindfulness into our routines, the better our sleep will be, the calmer our autonomic system will be and the faster we will heal. This will indirectly help other symptoms + fatigue. Reducing pain takes off stress on the nervous system, mainly from the emotional and mental aspect. 😊

Hi, I have visual snow syndrome-floaters, palinopsia, after image and many other symptoms. It's getting worse and worse every day. I don't believe in healing anymore. It makes me depressed and anxious. Can you help me please? I don't understand a spoken word of English. Written only. I'm really desperate. Thank you

Been getting light flashes in my eyes especially in the dark or low lighting. Is this a normal symptom for anyone?
@cfsrecovery
@cfsrecovery 11 ай бұрын
This is very common, nothing to worry about. It's one of those many symptoms that you throw under the umbrella of "hypersensitive nervous system issue" As long as you don't mentally panic it'll just go away and pop up here and there. Also, here's a playlist I created that will help you deal with symptoms if you're looking for more info on specifics: kzbin.info/aero/PLJT8-UVmfsmKHgGkCQPKkmHgZL11LqvJa. Hope this helps! ❤️

i"m 59 and had it really bad in my early 20's, so bad it was hard to function. It eventually went away after a couple years to where its negligible. Its still there, but only if I look for it, mostly in the evening at dusk.

I'm not a medical professional, but it's good that you've taken steps to explore your symptoms. If you're concerned about Lyme disease or other conditions, consulting with a healthcare professional for a comprehensive evaluation might provide more clarity. Wishing you the best on your health journey! 🌟😊
