Thank you, I've learned a lot from your videos, have poor balance and fall a lot. I'm going to start doing your exercises. I do walk a lot and it hasn't helped. God bless you. 🙏

Thank you for that info ,I have aqired walking poles ,I find they give me the arm movements or arm swings as in walking normally. I’m just getting started . Don’t forget to I’m 90+years of age so I might take a while. LK. From Canada 😂

Such important knowledge and it cannot be overstated how valuable the information you are putting out is; with elderly parents I can see that one of the greatest risks to them (and other elderly people) is the risk of fall and the associated damage that it can do. Thank you so much for your efforts.

Well, that's disappointing, but fitter and stronger are still a great benefit. I guess one needs to do both.

Dancing is great. Because many types of dance are about finding balance in imbalance.

It's counter intuitive but true. I fell 3X while walking on an outdoor track. I didn't notice any balance improvement from walking. I'm now working out on a stationary bike to maintain and improve overall fitness.

I wish there were gyms (for all ages) that offered balance exercises. I have always wanted to develop an excellent sense of balance. Never found a gym that offered that to the public!!

Thank you for this comment. I have developed a set of courses to train physical therapists and personal trainer to do just this: improve balance. Hopefully it takes off and more people will start offering the "balance gym" model.

Standing and getting my feet into my shoes first thing in the morning gets the balance wheel in my head going 😎

i walk about 10 miles a day.. and no it doesnt help

Very funny, Johnny, and point taken :) . Im pretty sure anyone who walks that much per day has a very low fall risk. The research I was looking at pertained to those at risk for falls. You are obviously quite healthy! I think your level of fitness is most people's goal.

Doesn't walking give you, at least, practice which should lead to better balance?

I have bought an exercise bike to help with circulation to my legs and feet. I can't walk very far or stand for long. Do you think this will help? My Doctor says the more weight I can lose the better to help my Sciatica. I am doing the balance exercises too. Does this seem like a correct programme?
@neurolasticinstitute424 Жыл бұрын
Yes. The exercise bike will improve your endurance and strength I also highly recommend an assistive device to help you safely walk. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGXTgax7ZrVqaq8

@@neurolasticinstitute424: If you use a recumbent bike with resistance, could it help both legs be equal in strength and thus helping a person walk more evenly, thus helping to prevent a fall?

Wonderful advice. I am walking around 25000 steps daily in the lose sand . I am 67. Also I do back foot walking 500 steps. Will it improve my balancing in the long run. Thank you. I am weighing 82 kgs.

So if I want to improve my walking, would it be best to use my walker? I am doing the balance excersises you suggested in other videos. I don't cut them short to walk. But I do need to improve my mobility especially my ability to walk
@trilbyarnold3341 Жыл бұрын
If a walking program just instructs the person to walk, I understand why it might not reduce falls. However, if a person has gait and balance training and walks on uneven ground such as a hiking trail, wouldn't that prevent more falls.

Has It occurred to anyone that if you sit all day you’re not likely to fall but if you walk you are likely to fall?
