Anthony, I watched this lesson the day it was released. More often than I care to admit, I knew had minor alignment issue. It showed the most in 14.1 matches on 9' tables. Solving it has been a puzzle. I worked on my foot work every day since because of your lesson. I'm almost at a loss for words and, I think at minimum you have taught me how to improve my pre-shot routine "footwork." My Alignment has improved each day since. Almost to the point I doing the correct thing subconsciously. Thank You!!!

This is a good update on your stance vids. Being cross eye dominant I struggled with your rec to pin my cue to my hip. My vision center is into my left dominant eye. And my right foot needs to be well to the right of the shot line for comfort and good execution. The device looks interesting...

This is such a good video, and a fantastic explanation. I know I suffer from “laying the fusion “and I knew that my vision center was not aligned properly I tried the other tests that I’ve seen on other channels, but the three tests you give seem like they might help me a lot more I’m right handed but I shoot left-handed and I’m right eye dominant. So the vision alignment problem is even worse I think in my case I’m gonna try out your alignment tool.
@Deep_Divers
@Deep_Divers 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Anthony. Your effort is much appreciated. One additional thing that I finally figured out. After you think you have found your vision center, line up long straight shots from one corner of the table to the other. Take 10 stop shots. If the cue ball consistently goes right and the object ball goes left then move your head a bit to the right. This will change your vision center slightly. As a result, you will automatically rotate the back of the stick a tiny amount to the right which will rotate the front of the stick left. Redo the shots and note the changes. Repeat as necessary. When you consistently can shoot the stop shots without the cue ball and object ball veering off the shot line, note where your chin is in relationship to the cue. Try shooting shots with your chin in this new position. Obviously, if when you try this the cue ball goes left and the object ball goes right then move your head left instead.

Excellent drill. The only problem with the drill is that it’s a straight shot, and you can learn to hit any shot with your head offline if you repeat over and over. Especially a straight in. My advice would be to everything in this video first then reinforce things with the long straight in shots. Confirming with video your vision center is on the shot line for the long straight ins is also important. In other words, you are learning to make the shot seeing perfectly straight. Thanks for sharing! I’ve got a video entitled advanced stroke drill which is much of the same thing you are describing. In addition I also reference that same shot on my video, 12 Steps to a Professional Pool Stroke. Appreciate all of your comments! Thanks for watching!

I have been searching for my alignment flaws for 30 yrs, eureka I have fixed it. Classic pool theory states that the eyes should be on a plane perpendicular to the shot line. I have found that the plane of my eyes needs to be tilted 30 degrees to the right of the shot line. With the ball of my right foot on the shot line I pivot my hips/shoulders to the right until they are almost parallel to the shot line as I step into the shot. You are an excellent instructor all your videos make the information clear and understandable. I especially enjoy the opening music.

Excellent video as are all of your educational pool videos, THANK YOU!!! I have one question here in this video. At the 18:37 mark (I also slow motioned this shot in the effort to learn and see where your cue was during practice strokes and then your shot), it appears that you are aiming (from your side perspective as the player) to the left of center on the cue ball. However, when you strike the cue for this particular shot, it appears that you repositioned the cue to hit more center or maybe slightly right of center from best I can tell. I am just curious if this was intentional or not and if this is something that is worthy of noting. Thank you.

Spin shots. So since your eye is over the shot line, it may not necessarily be over your cue or your center of vision is then over a parallel shift to that line. What are you thoughts regarding your eyes with spin?

Is it possible that if you are cross eye dominant (left eye, right hand) that your correct foot placement ends up with the cue being crowded into your hip? I keep getting coached to change my foot alignment because the cue cannot swing freely so close to my right hip.

I have an astigmatism and see two cue tips, two lines, two object balls (one is usually has less opacity). If you know what eye you can slightly close that eye and the "double vision" disappears. It takes some practice but it works!

I ALWAYS miss shots to the right. I can practice stop shots all day and if it doesn't look like im missing to the left of pocket, I will miss the the right. I'm stroking straight, with no side spin, and cuts to the right look thick cuts to the left look thin. The only way it looks straight is when I rotate my head counter clockwise (not square). When I do this, my stroke is all over the place. Should I stick with it and straighten the stroke
@joshuastover5533

Also, this my perception is exaggerated when on the rail and very very bad when jacked up on the rail playing stops and draw. I have learned to hit them dead on, got 5 in a row with pocket reducers on my 9' Rasson but every shot looked like I was cutting to the first diamond on short rail. I shoot left handed by the way but I am right handed. I've done eye dominance tests and eye dominace changes depending on which hand I use to do the test. With all vision center test though, I have to tilt my head 20 degrees or so to see straight in shots

For some people this perfect aim spot is not a fixed spot. One day it is more to the left the other day it is more to the right. If you are capable of shooting straight shots in consistently. And you miss them to the right you need to shift to the right. If you miss left you need to shift to the left. Until you pocket the ball in the heart of the pocket. Then that is the aim line.
