i grew up in Johnston City Illinois . the world championship pool tournaments were held here for many years at Janscos StarDust . A high class night club run by italians from my home town who had Las Vegas connections. i am 66 years old and still play . i have been taught and learned a lot about pool and am teaching it now in Panama up in the mountains. this is the best lesson on any kind of pool i have ever had or ever seen . the part that was hard to figure for me was very important and need to be stressed more mr beeler is how the cuestic must be over the diamond . you should polish this vid up just a bit since it is probably the best and most crucial i have ever seen. well that's great when you are shooting combo's, I have not had to shoot a combo on the rail, I can't even remember if I have ever come up with this situation. I have been playing for over 50 yrs. How about when they are not on the rail? All in all not a bad system. I practice shooting to the short rail from all over the table. I will say this I'm going to check this out. One question, how big are the pockets on the table you are using? I'm going to check your system on a diamond table. I know I'll have to make adjustment's because they play short. NICE VIDEO!

When I 1st saw this, I didn’t go to my table and try it. But did tonight. Though my table runs true re 3 rails to the corner test, I come up a half diamond short on the rolling ball shots using your system. However, it’s right on with the inside English shots. Any hint? I can make the adjustments but rather not have to.

One question still remain: After watching the Diamond systems from many players, I’m still a little confused on how to determine which Diamond to use when the ball is off the rail. Like when your cue was on the 6th Diamond, was that based on the angle towards the Diamond you wanted to hit across the table instead of perpendicularly to the adjacent rail? Thank you very much for your efforts in making us better players.

Anthony how do you parallel shift on these? Say the object ball is on the standard 1,2,3,4 but the Q ball is between numbers?
@poolteacher3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video and your kind words. To answer your question, all you have to do is estimate the math. A parallel shift would be very close however, this is a diamond to half diamond shift. If it was at a half diamond it would be an additional quarter shift since a quarter is half of a half. I hope that makes sense. If I can ever help you with any personalized instruction let me know. I am offering a February special on my platinum online course. @@poolteacher have 2 questions pertaining to this video. #1... on the angle in, angle out system where 1/2 diamond is 3 and 3rd diamond would be in corner pocket, if cue ball is not in direct line for the shot using centerball hit, since I know you are a big fan of Spot On The Wall technique, could you find spot on the wall for a reference shot using your formula, 1/2 for spot 3 and 3 diamond for corner pocket, use this for spot on the wall and shoot the cueball to that spot on the wall with centerball or follow and get the same result? #2 is similar to one but for reverse english system? Do the calculation like from spot 6, OB at position 3 on short rail = 18 0n first rail hit - 5 is equal to 13 on first rail use spot on the wall for reference to actually hit that spot with cueball in a different position on table to get same results? Hope you understand where I'm coming from. Just trying a system to alleviate for any position within reason of cueball location.
@dryclimateutah2 жыл бұрын
Question about your system and your aiming formula. First you demonstrated that the 3rd diamond aims to the 1/2 diamond to get to the corner pocket. Later, you give a formula. Applying the formula to the same shot (3x5=15, 15-5=10), shouldn't the 3rd diamond aim at the first diamond with reverse English to kick at the corner? I've watched the video multiple times and you seem to be hitting both times pretty hard with the reverse spin shots. Again, (4x5=20, 20-5 = 15), but in the first part you aimed at 10 coming from 4 to get to the corner (5). Am I missing something?
@poolteacher2 жыл бұрын
Yes. 2 different amounts of spin. The first system requires a little more draw.
@messagesent3 жыл бұрын
I have one question will this work if you're kicking at a single ball. I wonder this because 1. You always use two balls in all the videos on kicking. 2. I'm fairly new to the game of billiards. Does kicking at a single ball take a different approach 🤔3. If the answer is yes, it does take a different approach. Then what approach do I use? 4. I never as of yet kicked at a combination of balls. Just goes to show that I'm new to the game. Thanks for all the great and useful information about this wonderful game.

What if the ball is between the diamond numbers, say 2-1/2?
@TimZ0073 жыл бұрын
weird how the counting starts at 1 on the short rail pocket but is 0 on the long rail. The system looks solid though. I like it. shallower angles and rail first kicks if they are just slightly off the rail are good options to increasing your potting percentages.

I had a question regarding the system. You released two picture post the other day for both of these systems but they do not both get the same results. Take center pocket too the corner kick, the two systems are a half diamond off on the target, am I incorrect?
@poolteacher3 жыл бұрын
Great question! You are 100 percent correct! If you notice in the video the corner system is struck with just a touch more draw. The end rail system is just more of a reverse not hardly as much draw (not as much follow through). Hope that answers your question. It's just a little different hit and in the video if you go back and watch, one is hit at about a sixteenth of an inch higher than the other and more to the left slightly. This was pictured on the cue ball in the video (bottom right corner) . I said 8:00 in both of the diagrams. Maybe I should have said with more draw on the corner system. Excellent question and you were very perceptive. Its almost the same hit one just has a touch of draw and a touch more spin.

@@poolteacher this system works very nice. I made 8/9 tries. I noticed the cue ball did a nice job of "escaping" the corner after kicking the ball as well. Do you have a shift system for when object ball is near center table? (Away from the rails)

@@poolteacher only thing I don't like is the Q is moving in an arc, making the predicted spot in the middle of the table harder to be precise. I did notice instead of subtracting 5, shoot with 830 English on the 2-to-1 line and it is a natural Z kick to the opposite corner for up to about 6 diamonds of distance. Works great at 4 diamonds, very dialed in.
