@islandsunset Жыл бұрын
@@randomstrangeroninternet5348this won't help in a day or two. Years of unstretching made your muscles tighten there. It would take months of stretching to get ot flexible.

For the first time in my life I feel seen with my struggles in forward folding! I have always had very tight hamstrings despite working out my core a lot- especially how I trained a lot several years ago. Recently I have been strength training more powerfully again and naturally started tilting my pelvis forward and experienced this shift on my own- but hearing it and seeing it demonstrated like this felt so good to know I was heading in the right direction without creating an injury or something. Thank you so much for this!

I watched a video, not yours, that was critiquing exercises and some of them looked like ones that I were doing. He said they were ineffective and didn't work anything. I got really sad and felt like I did and tried for nothing and that I failed. I'm very glad to have found your video. It really brightened my day. I'm not really flexible and am working on that so this gives me some hope that I'll make it to my final fitness goal. Thanks so much!

I love a good forward fold 😊 When I started yoga, I couldn't even touch my feet, but now, after months and months of practice I can rest my whole chest on my thighs. It's crazy to me that my body can actually do this. I was almost 40 when I started, I never thought my flexibily could improve as much as it has. Of course I'm still struggling with a lot of poses (chauranga is my nemesis, my elbows just won't bent the right way), but the fact that I'm seeing improvements makes me proud of myself, for getting on my mat each day and not giving up. If you're like me, in your late 30s and you think of starting yoga, just do it, I promise it would do you good. Just start slow, 15 min a day. We can all find 15 min in our day and once you create the habit, it's in your routine and you can't stop :)

as a yoga student, i like how she really nicely explained the process of the forward fold on the floor or as we call it paschimotanasana, the true forward fold position is when we sit down with straight legs with a straight back and then you raise your arms and then bend so that your abdomen touches the thighs then you touch your chest then the noses on your knees, to get this position we recommend rock back and forth from the fold while on the ground, Hope it helps!😊

I couldn’t touch my toes forEVER. I tried and every time it would hurt so much. I started stretching every morning and I can touch them now! One of those simple pleasures. Along with touching my toes I have great leg and hip mobility so I can sit and get in weird child like positions that I use for my stimulation. Super super awesome.

For me, that's an easy stretch. When I was in high school, we had to participate in the "Presidential Fitness" tests. So we had to sit on the floor with our feet touching the side of a wooden box with a ruler attached to it. We were to sit with our feet touching the box. The end of the ruler was touching the wall on the opposite side of the box. I had to repeat the test twice after the first try. Why? They had to move the box back from the wall twice before my fingertips didn't touch the wall. 😂

I remember as a kid trying to touch my toes, people said it didn't count if you bent your knees, and no matter how often I stretched, I never could reach further. My family doctor even yelled at me over it saying I'd have back problems if I didn't fix this. Fast forward a decade and a half when I started working out and lifting, and wow it's way easier to progress to touching your toes if you stretch with your knees bent, however bent they need to be at the time. As long as you feel the stretch, it's enough.
