8:20 The 1 % rule is interesting. It seems easy to improve only 1 % every day, but is it? How much is 1 %. We get some idea if we think of something that is easily measured, like sports. Let's say you start long jumping. At the beginning you can jump 2 meters. Not much but it's a start. The next day you need to jump 1 % further which is 202 cm. Okay, let's say you can do it. The next day the goal is 204,2 cm. Still quite feasible. But how far will you jump after a year if following the 1 % rule? The answer is 76 meters. Of course no human being can jump that far. The idea of exponential improvement is tempting, but not realistic. Quite quickly you will reach the limit after which making any kind of improvement becomes very hard.

Yep, I thought about this exact thing and whether I should put it in the video. But ended up doing it because this subtle number trick worked on me in the past to try to improve by just a little bit more every time that I could.

There is always a cap to what we can do. Also there is more mental practice including other stuff to sports like long jump, I in situations like creating video content or writing a book there is always something to improve because we literally don't have a cap to what we learn through practice

Thanks! I mostly just customize two things with the trackpad (1) increase tracking speed and (2) add middle click with three fingers (which doesn't even require BTT), I tried many things but these two are basically the only customizations that stuck
