Stir fry until not pink and put in ziplock so I have healthy treats. I also make 30/3030 salmon balls with boiled in bag frozen wild salmon fillets. Put two thawed four ounce fillets into boiling water & weight it down with a ladle and let cook 10 mins then cool in ice. Remove skins & squish it up with your hands to make sure no bones and and one small microwaved sweet potatoe diced & 1/4 cup cooked/cooled oatmeal. Squish together and form one or two tablespoon size ball, refridgerate in ziplock. Another healthy treat we can eat too!

My previous fur baby Lilly (she passed away on May 29,2021). I used to make her homemade food. I would make her stew in my insta pot. She would eat meats such as chicken and ground beef. I’d also would add along with the choice of meet some organs such as beef hearts, beef liver, and beef intestines depending on the week. I would usually add beans, sweet potato, or jasmine rice for Carbohydrate. I’d also add a type of veggies at times usually broccoli and carrots. For fresh breath a bit of parsley or celery sticks. For other missing vitamins I would add Nuprogold. Boy did cooking food for my pup do wonders for her.

I have been making my dog’s food for over 15 years, since the problem with commercial foods in 2004. I use ground turkey and greens of some kind for the base and add whatever I’m having before spices go in. I also make her treats from canned pumpkin, peanut butter (the kind with nothing added) and coconut flour. My cocker spaniel lived a long healthy life on this diet, she passed away when she was 15 years old. My pit bull is now eleven and cannot eat any commercial food due to severe allergies she developed about 4 years ago. The vet says she is thriving on this diet. I recently began giving her a glucosamine supplement for her stiff joints. I don’t use carrots or sweet potato too often because both of these have a naturally high sugar content.

I'm always crunched for time so on the weekends I make a huge pot to make stew to last the week. Little bit of everything brown rice, sweet potato, mixed soup lentils, big bag of frozen vegetables ( added last once everything else is cooked so it cools down quickly to bag and put in freezer for the week . Also cooking the frozen vegies too much , cooks out the nutrients . When time to serve I cook up some oatmeal and heat up the serving bag of food. Bit of a hosh posh . Let cool , a bit ..never serve hot...add cold water if too hot. I also precook hard boil eggs for the week. That's my cheap alternative to meat. I add a few and mash it in with everything else. Bon appetite!

I have a very allergic 14 year old with liver/pancreas issues that a university veterinarian gave me a wonderful recipe to cook for him: Stew chicken ( I use breasts) , fresh carrots, celery in pot, add frozen peas, green beans and quinoa (rinse quinoa well because it is coated with a natural poison when harvested) . For additional vitamins and minerals I supplement it with daily cup of RX allergy commercial dog food kibbles. The handmade quinoa casserole quickly turned his liver enzyme issues around and helped him add a few much needed pounds on his fragile body plus he loves the aroma while we are cooking his dinner. Been 8-10 years now, beautiful coat returned, no itching without medication. Caution as quinoa is high protein, so always consult your veterinarian!

I have two miniature poodles who both have pancreatitis. My veterinarian had me put them on Hill's Science Diet I/D and add in carrots and peas. They are both 12 years old and I just don't feel like this is the diet I want to keep them on. I did previously cook their meals. It was meal plans you prepared that were designed by a company that also sent their supplements. It made my furbabies sick after a couple of months, so I went back to feeding kibble which I'm sure is what caused them to get the pancreatitis. I am anxious to start cooking for them again! What is a goodfood recipe for dogs with chronic pancreatitis? I want them to live a long happy life!

I’m counting sweet potato as a vegetable so she gets sweet potato, carrots, chicken, oatmeal, a little rice and about 3 T olive oil. I’m going to get your supplement. She is a 10 lb mini dachshund, 14 years old and eats 2 Tbl. 5 x daily or every 4 or so hours from 7am to 10pm. She is an eating machine. We even had to get two of those automatic opening food gadgets because between meals she gets 2 pieces of biscuit about the size of a dime if we go out. She rules with a paw of steel.♥️

I loved this episode. ❤❤🇿🇦🇿🇦 from RSA. My dog Nala has so many allergies...but she can eat: sweetpotato, rabbit, pork, lake trout, cows milk, carrot, pea, rice die to these being least reactive as per "vet diagnostic food reaction test as these have a frt units of bet 8 and 11. I'm supposed to only feed kibble "anallergy by royal canine" for now ..but il definitely try the recipe substituting what she can have. Cant wait till the next 3 months fly so 8 can try it with fish or pork instead

I was wondering what the supplement contains. Does it make sure the meal is balanced? I feed raw homemade and make sure to include the proper amount of raw edible bone and organ meats to make sure the dog gets the proper nutrients. For example, they get their calcium from bone. If bones are not fed, they must get calcium from something else. Many critical vitamins come from liver and other organs.

I started saving our eggshells, cook them, dry in oven and grind them into powder. Thats their calcium on bonefree days. I think its good to be aware of the essentials like vit. D, iodine, calcium and omega 3. Offals are great sources of vitamins.

Dr. Jones I want to do the natural made at home food for my dogs .My question is which one would you suggest to someone who has five large dogs? I have three rescues, and my brother died expectantly, so of course I took his two labs in. I hate giving them the canned stuff. And they must be bored with it. I will have to make it in weekly batches. The smallest weighs 85,largest weighs 150. If you can help I will be Forever Grateful! I Love Your Channel!
