Hi Everyone. I hope you are all well. I deliberately left this video to upload this week rather than last week as I have been away, so didn't want to risk people placing orders for moulds and me not being around to fulfil them. I hope you enjoy the video.

Hi first of all, love your videos, you've made me want to try it myself. Secondly, where on earth did you get that particular soap cutter from? I'm assuming you are in UK and yet i have looked everywhere and only see these things available from US.

Hi Renee. ooh I'm fine, just not enough hours in the day, even when I'm getting up at 3am. I do like the scale, but I don't really find it much better than the KD7000 I have plus it was 5 times the price as it's trade approved. So I wouldn't choose to buy it if I didn't have to.

Hey, I recently bought a KD8000 scale after being told it was trade approved by someone on fb though I heard at the beginning of your video that you'd changed your KD7000 because you can't sell your soap without trade approved. I notice the CE mark on the back of my scales which means they meet the European standards for using and selling. Am I losing the plot or did you change your scales for other reasons too. Complete newbie here so still learning.

Hi, CE is not the same as trade approved. The KD8000 is definitely not trade approved, if you live in Europe or the UK you will need proper trade approved scales, you will find that on supplier websites they are marked specifically actually as trade approved they will also have an M letter on them (and be a lot more expensive than the KD8000/7000 etc)

This soap turned out beautifully, like all your soaps. I have to admit, I get anxiety every time you mention your regulations. It seems like you're being micromanaged by laws that seem completely pointless to me. I'm glad you're able to work under those conditions because I think I would lose my mind :)

I try to think of it as an extra puzzle, rather than get annoyed with it all. But I must admit sometimes when I just want to use one different colour and I can't it drives me a bit mad.

@@IDreamInSoap A puzzle is a good way to look at it, but I can understand getting frustrated when you can't use an additional color. Maybe I'm just so used to there being relaxed regulations here and I'm spoiled :)

The rules are far from pointless, they are designed to protect customers and to ensure any cosmetic put on the market for sale meets a minimum safety standard and that should any customer or health facility need to, the product is traceable back to its maker. As Lisa says, it can be frustrating but it does make you more creative with the colours/fragrances permitted for that recipe.

@@ambereden4826 We have regulations like that here, but they don't seem as strict. We have to list our ingredients, so if there is any issue it can be traced back to the maker. This protects the customers without restricting the artists. We also don't treat soap as a cosmetic here, since soap is only meant to clean. That's why sometimes you'll hear soap makers from the US say "we can only guarantee this soap will get you clean" after listing all the essential oils, clays, and other special ingredients they added to the soap. If we want to make a claim about our soap doing anything other than cleaning, that's when we have to send it off to be tested and that's when the strict regulations kick in. I understand why you guys have such strict regulations over there, and I understand why we have our regulations the way they are, I think I'm just spoiled from having it the "easy" way around from my perspective. I feel it's easier and probably cheaper to add whatever I want to a soap and list the ingredients on a label rather than send every recipe off to be tested and approved. I admire the soapers who can work under those conditions because I don't think I could do it without going nuts :)

@@ambereden4826 No it isn't far from pointless, it was before 2013, but since 2013 the added regulations are not about integrity nor safety, only about protecting the elite, or how is that called, I'm not English. It's better in the US in my opinion apart from that it is better in the EU that allergens have to be added in the ingredients lists, which was already mandatory before 2013. The rules in the EU since 2013 are simply ridiculous and not reasonable nor were they meant to be in my opinion. It also doesn't make sense by the way that soap makers who already had their assessments done before 2013 don't have to adhere to the new rules.

Hey Shonna, there are lots of trade approved scales, and a lot of them do all sorts of things like help with pricing and all sorts (if you put the info in). To be honest they're not that different that normal scales, but they have been calibrated to an official standard, so in theory they are always accurate, oh and they cost 5 times more :-( The tweezers - I've watched that so many times, it's hilarious :-)
