Dog person melts when he gets his first cat

Around a year ago I was about to walk my dog Jester and found a tiny kitten staring up at us when we opened the door. She was so small but walked right up to Jester who is 140lbs with no fear. Instead of a walk I scooped her up and we went to the pet store instead. The nice lady said that she was only around two or three weeks old and would need to be bottle fed for a few weeks more and helped me get everything needed to keep her alive. It was hilarious watching this tiny little kitten follow this huge dog around and they quickly became the best of friends. I named her Lilith and she’s grown into a beautiful long haired tuxedo cat. I never considered sharing my home with a cat before that day but I can’t imagine her not being here with us now.

And I've loved mine just as much, just endlessly fascinating. To anyone reading this that wanted a cat that looks like Mochi pls don’t buy cats like her. Don’t support greedy breeders that only breed for aesthetics at the cost of cat’s general well being. Munchkins have very many health issues. On top of that Mochi is also part Scottish fold which have very many health issues as well. Breeding to an extreme just for aesthetics is beyond cruel. 😭 God bless the couple that give Mochi a forever home. She will need lots of love and care.

I have loved my kitties for 62 yrs. Unconditional love, entertainment, cuddles and friendships. My first Dog I got from a breader which I learned I ended up rescuing her. A 5 yr old Sheltie named Lola…. She was my love and support for 5 additional years. Way too short of a life. I can’t wait to be with my fluffs again that I’ve lost. My best friends 😕❤

Might be true to some cat, but all cats are different. One of my cat is a total loner and won’t get along with other cats, but she trust her humans and would look for us whenever she need to social. For some cat that connection with their humans are enough social interaction for them, because they do see and think of us as their family.

Mochi most probably a Scottish fold munchkin. Adorable-looking but this breed of cat will probably live in pain for the rest of their life. It’s truly a blessing she’s adopted by a loving family. 😭 Edit: She’s not a Scottish fold. Mochi got her ears amputated.

@@daydreameraj9777 I'd like to clarify that munchkins 'being in pain' is a widely distributed false rumor. Because Some(not all) vets/animal activists decided to falsely claim that they had the same issues as Dachshund dogs. I've had munchkins most of my life and none of the ones I had developed arthritis or had any pain. My oldest rn is almost 15 and she still runs and jumps like a bullet. I suspect there could be old age related arthritis(because shes old) but the vet check was inconclusive; if she does it's too mild or minor. It's sad how much misinfo goes around about munchkin cats. Only recently did they publish a study that they are a healthy breed, but only one. In truth Munchkin cats are just super happy cats- and they somehow keep a youthful vigor their whole lives. Out of the 6 munchkins i've had, not a single one of them suffered from rumored munchkin related health issues. Only one of them had asthma because of her ragdoll ancestry.

I hope more self-proclaimed dog people realise that cats are anything but the myths that keep being told about them (by people who either never had a cat or who treated them wrongly - disrespecting their boundaries f.e. - thereby creating a traumatised cat who didn't want anything to do with them). Cats are very affectionate, loving and playful animals that can impact (improve) your emotional & physical health tremendously.
