I have a smooth coat, 3 lb chihuahua . I think the fur in the ears helps to protect her ears from debris. Also, I thought the whiskers helped them to navigate and detect things that are close to their eyes and face. I would never do anything to harm her for the sake of winning.

These Chihuahua grooming videos are great. My 17 old daughter & my 14 year old son have just started showing our Chihuahuas. These videos have been so helpful. My daughter showed her long coat male for the first time last month & we used your video as guidance for the pre-show grooming. He went in the ring and got a major ! Trimming a dog's whiskers is taking away part of their senses. The tips of their whiskers contain neurons which transmit data from their surroundings to their brain, helping them to navigate the world. So trimming them is cruel.

Awesome video I just rescued my 1st Chi and Im addicted to him! Question: I must have been like wrongly informed about cutting a dogs whiskers, people said I can't because it would like mess up his balance?!?!? My Paco is 4years old and if i can shave off those gray whiskers and get him lookin as young feels I want too! What are the risk when cutting whiskers if any?

New sub here, going to try nail trimming techniques on 18 month who is a challenge to keep still. Love my Chuy he looks almost identical to your male smooth coat, cream color with partial black mask. Beautiful little dogs with huge personality 👍❤

It doesn't hurt or harm them in any way. For the dog show world, it's a technique we use to help clean up the face for judging. Kinda like we girls shaving our legs. It's not required but sure does look and feel nice, doesn't it?

Never once spoke lovingly to the Chihuahua, The dog was obviously stressed because of the constant tail wagging. The Chihuahua was afraid to do something wrong, trying to do everything right.

Luky to have this sweat chihua. But com'on it's not great treatment! Holdin them like toys every moment, as to often... You don't know chihua have to avoid cold! At the end, omg don't you see he's freezing, just because you thinkin it's a waste of time to dry them softly! So many habits with selfish idiots groomers. Fur is not your lashes or your hair. In general: No need to trim a lot the ears like that, fur IS protection to avoid outside from dusts.
