Gonna be training my dog to do this when I can afford a cart. She’s 40 lbs and a staffy mix but I’m loosing weight and she’s already able to pull way more than expected in a sled, and a cart seems like it would be easier for her to pull. This dog can run for hours and not get tired and we don’t have a treadmill to run her on so I think something like this would be good for her.

@@1111111111202 -- It can get "exciting" at times... :) Especially when you are first training them and they see no problem with running in front of you from one side to the other and you have to slam on your brakes. I had to slam on my brakes once and the leash was in the hand that controlled the rear brake, so I when I hit the front brake with the other hand, I ended up flipping forward and going face first towards the pavement. You really don't want slack to develop in the leash and they cross over either since that could result in it getting tangled with the front wheel with a similar outcome... Let's just say that it is a "learning experience" for both the rider and the dog... :)

I am in EXACTLY the same situation!!! My service dog is going to be a Dobermann (the European kind, since I live in west Europe). I've already researched (dog) threadmills and backpacks to make sure he could spend his energy while I lay in bed, but this idea is so much better! I wouldn't need a disability scooter either to go on walks ^_^. If you make this electric you could also let the dog loose for some much-needed sniffing time as well. Great idea! GimmitheBong you’re incredibly an educated human. Look at the cart that the owner is riding in, it has petals for heaven sake‘s she’s assisting. Rottie’s definitely need to have responsibilities, tasks even in short bursts. Otherwise you’re going to see couches shredded and Wood trim devoured within the home. Of course you would never choose to employ a dog that is too small or the wrong breed. Take into consideration if temperature are too high or low. Even though our breed would not be suited for this activity, if my Australian Shepard does not have a job to do our house becomes her den of destruction.

Difference between a horse and buggy and a dog and buggy is that a horse is fucking massive and a dog generally isn't...? Literally even the biggest dog breeds on the planet like mastiff types only hit the 200lbs range whereas if you Google horse weight it comes up in the 800 to 2,000lbs+. On top of that, many horse breeds not only outweigh but loom over the average person whereas only a few dog breeds can reach lengths comparable to human height. That's why nobody bats an eye at one horse pulling one person but eyebrows get raised when you replace said horse with a dog. (Not _dogs,_ mind you, as nobody would care since multiple animals means less load.)

This looks great for someone who has a dog with far more stamina than the human, hahaha Also looks like it'd be a good backup option for anyone with a big dog, for days when you're feeling slightly sick and can't stand to walk or run with the dog, but the pupper still needs his exercise.
