My family has been taking in foster animals since I was young and it really made a difference in my life. I've been suffering from a mental disorder and animals help my symptoms immensely. You get attached sometimes but it's really worth the tears because you have helped them to have a good life.

Not to mention, I’m a total insomniac, so giving them cuddles helps me pass out. My brain literally won’t let me sleep until morning sun time and I’m tired 24/7,but I love my dogs.

@@mediocrates5233 sometimes people don’t realize a pet is as much time, money, or effort when they get it. it is better they realize that it just isn’t working sooner than later and find it the proper home it deserves. or they have it temporarily as a foster and know it is better to give it to a different family instead of trying to foster fail or adopt it. too many people in the comments try to guilt others to keep the animals when they are only fostering them. foster parents/families should not feel guilty or obligated to adopt every animal that comes into their house just because people think they should keep them.

That's my fear, because I've been bringing home strays since I was little kid, animal and human. I'm afraid if we foster, since my husband is of similar love and empathy with animals as I, that we'll go from one dog and two cats, all rescues, to fifteen dogs and twenty seven cats, with a double garage-sized indoor winter playroom for each. In other words, our animals would live in our house, and we'd have to pitch a tent in the woods. If they'll still allow it. ;-)

Some love,good food and dogs recover very well. My husband found a dog in bad condition and living in a horrible place. He rescued him and gave him lots of love and good food and he turned out to be one of the best,most loving dogs we ever had.
